7 Facts About Jackie Chan, One of Them is His Head Injury!

1. Played Bowling with Bruce Lee

In his early career, Jackie Chan played in two films alongside Bruce Lee, The Chinese Connection (1972) and Enter the Dragon (1973). On an occasion when Jackie Chan is about to go bowling, he meets Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee then asked him to play bowling together.

They played bowling together, many fans came asking for Bruce Lee’s signature, and Jackie Chan kindly refuses the fans. About ten days after the bowled together, Bruce Lee died at the age of 32.

2. Played in an Adult Film

We always see Jackie Chan playing in a comedic-action movie. But few would’ve guessed that Jackie Chan played in an adult film. In 1975 stars in All in the Family, a Hong Kong film where he has to act in his birthday suit.

Jackie Chan stated that he had no other choice because he needs money. But, he is not bothered by it.

3. Sometimes He Needs a Stuntman

Although he himself is a stuntman, that doesn’t mean he can do it all alone. There are occasions where need help from other stuntmen. In 2013, Jackie told Yahoo! That he sometimes uses stuntman on scenes such as walking back and forth, driving, or other heavy duties so Jackie Chan can have more rest.

Jackie Chan also stated that all of his stuntmen have passed a test, so they all know what to do in front of a camera.

4. His Thoughts on Rush Hour

Jackie Chan played Rush Hour (1998) alongside Chris Tucker, he said that he doesn’t get to act in his role as he wishes. In other words, Jackie doesn’t get the chance to do his own stunts because of the cultural clash with Chris Tucker. Jackie Doesn’t understand what makes the movie interesting.

“It’s a bad film,” Jackie told his manager. “They don’t let me act with my style. I’m not good at English, and I don’t understand Tucker’s English.”

5. Got Involved with Triad

Jackie Chan’s success in Hong Kong got him in trouble with the Triad. At that time, Jackie admits that the criminal organization keeps on bothering him. Jackie Chan got fed up with the Triad and faced them with guns and grenades.

Owning weapons is a crime in Hong Kong. Fortunately, it all happened outside of Hong Kong, and Jackie gives his statement to the police, so the case is not processed.

6. Two Panda Plushies

In 2010, Jackie Chan visited an artisan in London and ask for two panda plushies called Chan La and Chan Zy. Jackie Chan often travels with these two panda plushies and ask other celebrities to take a picture with the plushies.

The two plushies have taken a picture together with Ang Lee, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, and Bill Clinton. The two panda plushies are there when Jackie attended the Academy Awards in 2017.

7. A Hole in His Skull

It’s great to see Jackie Chan can keep on starring in great movies and entertain us. In 1986, when Jackie Chan is filming Armour of Gold, Jackie’s head collided with a rock that left him with a hole in his skull. Jackie goes under surgery to fill the hole with metal.

When he guests a show, Jackie often asks the host to touch the hole in his head.

8. Receives a Guinness World Record

Jackie Chan is the director, producer, and actor in his own films. But some films give more responsibility to him. Jackie Chan gets a Guinness World Record from Chinese Zodiac (2012) because he gets 15 awards from that movie alone.

Besides directing, producing, and acting, he also gets an award as a fight choreographer, composer, art director, unit production manager, technician, vocalist, writer, cinematographer, stuntman, property, and catering coordinator.
