On Sunday, Activision gave us a surprise by scheduling a remaster of two legendary games, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. This news reawakens the nostalgia experience from all gamers who had spent hours playing these games back in the dawn of the 2000s. These games are not only memorable due to its gameplay but also its soundtracks.

Yes, whoever played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 surely agrees if the song featured in the game had been curated perfectly. The collection of punk and rock music ala 2000s are very suitable to accompany us on mastering difficult techniques. Even the songs in the game are believed to be the creator of teenager songs in the 2000s.

The remastered Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 won’t arrive at 4 September later, but the developer, Vicarious Visions, had announced the songs that will be featured in the game. It looks like the developer knows pretty well with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans, Vicarious Visions will bring many original songs that featured in the original games.

Reporting from Polygon, almost all songs in the original games will come in the remastered version. Popular songs like “Police Truck” by Dead Kennedys, “Superman” by Goldfinger, “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” by Primus, and “Guerrilla Radio” by Rage Against the Machines were confirmed to return.

If you can’t wait for at least four months to listen to all songs, Vicarious Visions had created a Spotify playlist that consisted of two games for your nostalgia needs.

Sadly, from 26 songs available in two games, the playlist only had 18 songs. Here’s the list:

  • “Police Truck” by Dead Kennedy
  • “Superman” by Goldfinger
  • “Jerry Was A Race Car Driver” by Primus
  • “New Girl” by The Suicide Machines
  • “Here and Now” by The Ernies
  • “Euro-Barge” by The Vandals
  • “Blood Brothers” by Papa Roach
  • “Guerilla Radio” by Rage Against the Machine
  • “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” by Naughty By Nature
  • “You” by Bad Religion
  • “When Worlds Collide” by Powerman
  • “No Cigar” by Millencolin
  • “May 16” by Lagwagon
  • “Subculture” by Styles of Beyond dan Diselboy + Kaos VIP
  • “Heavy Metal Winner” by Consumed
  • “Evil Eye” by Fu Manchu
  • “Five Lessons Learned” by Swingin’ Utters

Before you going insane and assuming that your favorite song in those games gone in the remastered version, Activision had released a teaser image of the game. In the picture that shows CD tower, it is seen that there are many songs that will make a return in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 even though not included in the playlist.

It looks like Activision is very aware of the fact that songs will be one of the reasons for a player to purchase the remastered version. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
