Riot Games has officially introduced its newest agent named Veto. This new sentinel agent is set to be launched during the Valorant Champions 2025 Paris Grand Final on October 5, 2025.

About Valorant Agent Veto

Veto has a background as a law enforcement officer from Senegal. He is said to defy combat rules by disabling his opponents' strength and technology. On the battlefield, Veto relies solely on his shots.

Veto Release Date

In an official press release from Riot Games, Veto has been confirmed to be released on October 7, 2025. Along with this, Valorant has also introduced Skirmish, which is now available for players to enjoy. Skirmish is a new custom game mode offering 1v1 to 5v5 battles on a new close-range map, allowing you to dive straight into the action. 

Skill Ability Veto

Chokehold (Q)

Equip a dense fragment of your mutation. Press Fire (left click) to throw it. The fragment will activate upon hitting the target, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Trapped enemies will be affected by Deafen and Decay. Enemies can destroy the trap before it is activated.

Crosscut (C)

Equip vortex. Press Fire (left click) to place it on the ground. When within range and facing the vortex, REACTIVATE to teleport to it. During the BUY PHASE, the vortex can be retrieved for REDEPLOYED.

Interceptor (E)

Equip Interceptor. Press Fire (left click) to place Interceptor at the targeted location. Once installed, REUSE to activate it. Once active, Interceptor will destroy all utilities that BOUNCE off players and/or can be destroyed by gunfire. Enemies can destroy Interceptor.

Evolution (X)

INSTANTLY initiates the full mutation process. You gain combat stim, regeneration, and become IMMUNE to all forms of debuffs.

Note: Veto becomes immune to all utilities during the round, allowing him to maintain his position during intense combat. He is also immune to ability-based damage that does not behave like firearms (e.g., Raze's rockets, Brimstone's ultimate). However, damage from bullets and abilities that function like weapons (e.g., Jett's knife, Chamber's weapon, Neon's ultimate) will still be effective.

How is Veto gameplay?

"Veto is bold. Its setup is very flexible and adaptable depending on the opponent's playstyle over time. Its teleportation, for example, provides strong repositioning potential, allowing players to retreat, reposition, and maintain control. You could say its boldness truly shines through its ultimate ability, which is a moment to play with confidence, even a bit of recklessness. Veto can function like a standard defensive Sentinel, or you can take a more aggressive approach to create space and launch attacks. We're excited to see the creativity players bring to it—there are so many possibilities open up."

How does Veto change the current META? 

“Veto will definitely shake things up, especially in how teams use and respond to utility. At all levels of play, locations often become zones filled with utility, and Veto is designed to counter that, especially with his ultimate. He can block Brimstone’s ult, absorb Raze’s rockets, and keep fighting. Even when enemies know he’s using his ultimate, it will force them to rethink their approach and attack more cautiously.”
