The official Twitter account of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced that Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen will be resumed in this year's 35th issue, which will be released on 2 August 2021. The manga about Gojo Satoru was on hiatus in the 29th issue published on 21 June 2021 due to Gege Akutami having health problems.

Gege Akutami had previously said that Jujutsu Kaisen would be on hiatus for about a month, and reassured fans that his condition wasn't very serious.

Gege Akutami published Jujutsu Kaisen in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Shueisha published the manga's 16th compiled book on 4 June of the same year. This manga is selling well and has sold more than 50 million copies in the market.

Viz Media published the first three chapters of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga in English simultaneously with the Japanese version as part of its Jump Start initiative.

When Viz later switched to its new version of Shonen Jump in December 2018, the company began publishing new chapters of the manga digitally. Shueisha also publishes the manga on the MANGA Plus website.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime premiered on 2 October 2020, and has 24 episodes. Gekijo-ban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie), a new film for the franchise, will be released this winter.

The film is based on the prequel Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Koto Senmon Gakko (Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School).
