The Reason Behind Xepher's Switch to MLBB Revealed!

What's the reason behind Xepher switch to MLBB?

The reason behind Xepher's move to MLBB has become one of the most intriguing topics to discuss. Xepher was one of Indonesia's best Dota 2 players in the modern era.

Why emphasize the modern era? Because, in the past couple of years, the number of professional Dota 2 players remaining in Indonesia has drastically declined.

Xepher was the first Indonesian player to ever qualify for The International (Dota 2’s most prestigious tournament). Before other players eventually found success—mostly with international teams—Xepher had already made history.

Given his illustrious Dota 2 career, many questioned why he decided to make the progressive shift to Mobile Legends.

Following in the Footsteps of Other Dota 2 Players

Xepher followed the path of several former Dota 2 players who successfully transitioned into Mobile Legends coaching, such as:

  • Acil

  • Khezcute

  • Saint de Lucaz

  • NMM

  • Facehugger

Now, in MPL ID Season 15, Xepher joins Aville in leading two major teams: Alter Ego and EVOS.

Many speculated that his decision was driven by FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), considering how many Dota 2 players have thrived in MLBB. However, there’s another key reason behind Xepher’s transition.

The Real Reason Xepher Switched to MLBB

During a restream of ESL Mobile Masters with REKT and Mas Ade, Xepher was asked about his experience in the Mobile Legends scene and what motivated his move.

Surprisingly, his answer was simple: It wasn’t about money, but self-improvement.

"I wanted to learn how to handle different things, like improving my social skills. In Dota 2, professionalism was the main focus—you didn’t necessarily need close relationships as long as you performed well in-game," Xepher explained.

As we know, Mobile Legends heavily emphasizes team chemistry. Many believe that a strong team isn’t just about skill but also about strong interpersonal relationships outside the game.

This dynamic is believed to enhance in-game communication, reducing the chances of miscommunication and misunderstandings.

Additionally, when conflicts arise, teammates are less likely to take harsh words personally because they already have a strong bond off the battlefield.

Will Xepher Succeed in MLBB?

Xepher’s transition marks a bold career move, but his adaptability and strategic mindset—honed in Dota 2—could give him an edge.

If he can master MLBB’s fast-paced gameplay while fostering strong team synergy, he might just become the next big name in the scene.

One thing’s for sure: The esports world will be watching closely.
