Has long been awaited by many, Android 11 finally arrived! The latest release emphasizes on making it easier for the users to do various crucial things on their smartphones, such as managing conversations, connected devices, privacy, and many more. To know more about Android 11, here are the latest features!
1. Communication Made Easy
Communication is an important aspect, as implied with this latest OS’s main focus. So, Google has made several improvements for users in terms of communication, such as:
- There’s a new menu in the notification section to manage conversations easier. You can also prioritize some conversations and make sure that none of their messages are missed.
- The bubble notification feature allows you to seamlessly perform multiple tasks on your smartphone so you can respond to important conversations without having to switch from the currently open app.
- A built-in screen recorder to share your screen with friends or colleagues without needing to use a third-party app.
2. A New Way to Control Connected Devices
Google has found a new way to make it easier for users to manage connected devices, such as smart TVs, speakers, or even fridges. Therefore, they added new ways for users:
- You can access all of your devices/smartphones simultaneously by simply holding the power button. You can control your connected devices, such as smart TVs and smart speakers with just one tap without having to open any app.
- Updated and more user-friendly media control which allows you to switch from video players more easily, such as from headphone to your speaker.
- Android Auto, which works wirelessly for all Android 11 devices, provided you have a compatible car -- making it easier for you to drive, especially when you need to ask for directions using Google Assistant.
3. Enhanced Privacy and Data Access
As an Android user, the important things aside from the new features is the user’s security. To provide more security, Google brings some improvements in terms of privacy and data access, such as:
- One-time permission allows users to grant one-time access to use the device’s most sensitive features, such as the microphone, camera, and location. If you need to access the device’s sensors, the app will ask for another permission.
- Now, Android will automatically reset the app’s permission if it hasn’t been used for a while. However, You can still grant it permission once you relaunched the app.
- The addition of the Google Play update module will have more privacy and security fixes that can be delivered to smartphones in the same way as the app updating process.
- Android 11 will provide company-owned devices with privacy protection that allows you to use it as a personal device. The IT department can use tools to manage your device from the work profile, without having to look at the data and activities used in your personal profile.
4. Additional Features for Pixel
If you are using a Pixel 2 or the latest version, you will receive several additional features which serve to help you manage and organize your smartphone, such as providing you with recommended apps based on your routines, giving you more convenient ways to select text or images, as well as taking screenshots in apps, and many more.
