TMS Entertainment showed the second trailer for anmie Baki Hanma on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The video also features Baki Hanma's ending song titled "Unchained World" by EXILE TRIBE's GENERATIONS, and also reveals the premiere date on September 30, 2021, on Netflix and releases 12 episodes simultaneously.

The trailer also reveals the new cast for the anime. Baki Hanma will be the third Baki anime on Netflix, and a sequel to the recently released Baki: Dai Raitaisai-hen.

Baki Hanma tells about the bloody clash between Baki Hanma and his father, Yujiro Hanma, who is known as "the strongest creature on earth." The climax of Baki universe, which depicted the "strongest parent-child fight in history" in the original manga, has been adapted into a long-awaited anime.

Reporting from MoCa News, Nobunaga Shimazaki returns to play the main character Baki Hanma. GRANRODEO will perform the anime's opening theme song "Treasure Pleasure."

Itagaki's original martial arts manga Baki The Grappler (Grappler Baki) was previously published in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999, and Akita Shoten's 42 compiled book volumes have more than 63 million copies in circulation. The series received two television anime seasons as well as an original video anime (OVA).

The sequel titled Baki is the second installment of the franchise. The manga also appeared in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1999 to 2005 with 31 volumes published. The manga inspired two anime series which also aired on Netflix, as well as an original anime DVD adaptation (OAD) that depicts the "Most Evil Death Row Convicts" arc. OAD bundled with Itagaki's 14th volume limited edition Baki-Dou manga in December 2016.

After Baki was completed in 2005, Baki Hanma was published in the same magazine from 2005 to 2012. The sequel series Baki-Dou was published in Weekly Shonen Champion in March 2014 as the third sequel to the original manga Baki The Grappler, and ended on April 5, 2018. The manga's fifth main chapter, titled Bakidou, launched in 2018.
