What would happen if you were reborn as a pig? The isekai-themed anime Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned Into a Pig is an anime from studio Project No.9 and produced by Aniplex which is planned to premiere on October 7, 2023. Ahead of its premiere, the anime, which is adapted from the light novel series Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro (Heat the Pig Liver), released the cast list, key visuals, theme song, and promotional video for the anime.

The following is a promotional trailer video for the upcoming anime Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned Into a Pig.

Project No. 9 revealed that the series' opening song titled "The Reason I Laugh Is" will be performed by ASCA. Meanwhile, the closing song is entitled "I'm Not Alone" which will be sung by Myuk. The anime will premiere on October 7 on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11. Apart from that, the anime also released the following new key visual.

Apart from that, Aniplex also revealed several players who will be involved in this anime, including:

• Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as a Pig
• Tomori Kusunoki as Jess
• Miyu Tomita as Ceres
• Kent Itō as Nott

Butareba is an anime adapted from the popular light novel series by Takuma Sakai and Asagi Tosaka titled Heat the Pig Liver which debuted in March 2020. Even though it has a somewhat strange plot, the format has a typical isekai plot. This series tells how a man enters a fantasy world after he eats raw pork liver. After he ate raw pork liver, he suddenly experienced severe stomach pain which made him unconscious and died.

Then, suddenly he woke up and entered a world and saw himself transformed into a pig. He becomes a pig, and he cannot even speak and only makes sounds like a pig. The interesting thing is, that he then meets a beautiful innocent girl named Jess who has the ability to read minds. So he can understand what the pig wants to say. This interaction is interesting enough that they end up becoming friends, and this is where the attraction of the anime is with its unique fantasy story.
