1. The Journey
The story behind this Muslim anime is quite interesting, as 300 Saudi Arabian people went to Japan to learn the art of making anime in order to make this Islamic animated film, and the results were fantastic. Being the first collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Japan, this film was supposed to make its debut at the Cannes film festival, France. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the premiere was delayed.
This Muslim anime film follows Aus in the famous "Year of the Elephant" when the invading armies of king Abraha from the south attack the holy city of Mecca with the ultimate goal of destroying the Kaaba, the holiest building structure in the region. Aus, along with a small group of soldiers join in this battle to defend the city from invaders, leading him to divulge a secret about his past that he prefers to keep hidden before.
In 2021, The Journey screened theatrically in theaters across the Middle East with Arabic dubbing to accommodate its audience. Fortunately, the film received rave reviews and earned the Septimius Award for “Best Experimental Film.”
2. Arslan Senki
Based on the novel and manga of the same title, The Heroic Legend Of Arslan, this 2015 Muslim anime tells the story of the crown prince Arslan, losing his home in Persia against the Lusitanians. This situation occurred after Arslan's father, King Andragoras III, fell victim to acts of treason committed by some of his closest followers.
Arslan goes on an adventure to gather an army to fight the Lusitanians and regain his throne with the help of some unique people. Originally the anime was based on the popular Persian epic that had a similar storyline, in which a prince of the same name set out to reclaim his throne after he learned that he was part of the royal lineage.
This Muslim anime is full of action with lots of fighting scenes which makes it interesting for those looking for anime about war and not just adventure. The anime runs for two seasons to finish the story, which makes it great for all of you who want to watch something that doesn't drag on its plot.
3. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Because it is set in the Middle East, many people call this series a Muslim anime. Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic features several well-known characters from the epic "Thousand and One Nights", including Ali Baba, Sindbad, and Aladdin, all of whom play major roles in the anime.
Debuting in 2012, the anime loosely adapts the story from the fairy tale "One Thousand and One Nights," with various places in the Middle East visited by its protagonists.
This anime tells of the adventures of a boy named Aladdin, who has a genie on his flute. He meets a merchant named Ali Baba, who goes on an adventure into a dangerous tower dubbed the dungeon to find the treasures inside and gain magical powers.
The two characters encounter Sindibad several times throughout the series to fight against powerful beings that threaten the peace of the world, and endanger the people who live in it. The series was highly successful, earning a total of two seasons, and a spinoff that attracted a large following of fans throughout its run. This anime is great to watch for all of you who are looking for a character story that goes on a fun adventure, is set in the Middle East, and has lots of intense battle scenes.
4. Arabian Nights Sindbad
Still set in the land of the Thousand and One Nights, this Muslim anime will be remembered by most of the older generation, as it first aired in 1975. The anime reached the Middle East region in the 1980s, and quickly became a popular spectacle. among children in the region.
Although it looks outdated today compared to other anime on the list of best Muslim anime, Arabian Nights Sindbad tells the story of the main character named Sindbad when he was a child when he was still joining his uncle on an adventure in the vast ocean, only later they were separated when a whale destroys their ships.

The main character of Gundam 00 is Setsuna F. Sei, whose real name is Soran Ibrahim. His motivation in becoming a Gundam Exia pilot was to end wars, especially those in the Middle East. In this anime, there is also a character named Marina Ismail, a female leader whose country is in conflict. One of the antagonists is Ali Al-Saachez, who is a war madman and is the mastermind behind every armed conflict that occurs.
This anime was so good that it received positive praise for its visuals and story. Gundam 00 is often referred to as one of the best anime and is a great title for new fans who want to follow the Gundam series.

6. Battle of Surabaya
This Muslim anime with Islamic elements made in Indonesia is a cinema film made by MSV Pictures. Tells about the end of World War II in Indonesia which made Soekarno and Hatta proclaimed the independence of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
Unfortunately the Dutch, which before World War II had colonized Indonesia, wanted to try to return to colonizing again by piggybacking NICA and allied troops.
