Komi Who has Trouble Communicating Befriends a Boy Named Tadano
Komi Can't Communicate tells the story of Tadano, who is voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara. He is an ordinary boy who attends a private high school named Itan. On his first day at the school as a transfer student, all he wanted to do was mingle with the students in his new school.
Suddenly, a female transfer student passed in front of Tadano. Everyone at school was watching the girl. She stood out because she is beautiful, tall, graceful and big-chested. Truly a true beauty. The girl's shoe locker was right next to Tadano's because they were both new transfer students.
Tadano was surprised because he became a transfer student with such a beautiful girl. In the classroom, the ordinary Tadano was not noticed by his classmates. Unlike the beautiful girl named Komi who is like an angel. Unfortunately when asked to introduce herself in front of the class, Komi could not say a word even though she was not a person with a speech impairment. Komi can only write on the blackboard to communicate with other people, which makes it difficult for her to make friends.
Komi Wants to Make 100 Friends
After finishing their class, Komi and Tadano were the only students left in the class even though the other students had gone home. Sweat was pouring from his head from nervousness. Tadano tried to talk to Komi. Things didn't go well and Komi ran out of her classroom, but when Komi reached the door, Tadano shouted "Are you not good at talking to people?" Komi was frozen and frightened.
Komi has extreme social anxiety. Tadano asks if Komi wants to write on the blackboard to communicate. Komi took the chalk and wrote very quickly, she is glad that she can communicate with Tadano by writing on the blackboard. Komi also admitted that her goal is to have 100 new friends. Tadano says he will be her first friend, and will help Komi have 99 more friends.

A Unique Romantic Comedy
The hilariousness in Komi Can't Communicate can be seen from how Komi has some soft but hyperbolic poetic moments like cherry blossoms and lime dust that floats to the floor. There are also many funny scenes in this extreme teen melodrama. Parodies of several other anime are also often inserted here, such as the Detective Conan parody where Tadano was mistaken for a criminal by many because Tadano hurt Komi's heart who happened to be a bit like Ran Mouri.
The artwork in Komi Can't Communicate is also unique. Sometimes Komi is drawn beautifully, but when she is shocked and embarrassed her face turns silly like Goku or Krilin's face in Dragon Ball. There is something heartwarming in the way Komi and Tadano make friends. Sometimes they're eager to look like adults, and sometimes they look like wide-eyed kids who are so innocent about everything around them.
The first episode of Komi Can't Communicate was hilarious and silly but a little ironic. The plot has the potential to showcase an empathetic portrayal of a teenager struggling with social anxiety. Visually, it is determined by the surreal development, from the texts on the screen to how cat ears pop out of Komi's head.
Structurally, the first episode of Komi Can't Communicate is quite strange because it contains a pile of irregularities about the culture of the Itan Private School. The school is a prestigious institution attended by eccentric and strange people, so Komi's goal of making 100 friends will not be easy to fulfill. But that premise is what makes Komi Can't Communicate fun to watch, and the uniqueness of the story makes the anime popular.
