The Anomaly of Freya in MLBB
Freya in MLBB become the anomaly hero because of this.

Freya in MLBB has always stood between two extremes: overwhelmingly strong in ranked matches, yet almost invisible on the professional stage.
This paradox has turned Freya into a unique phenomenon among both players and analysts. She has become a meta anomaly—individually powerful but systemically irrelevant.
In ranked mode, Freya has been feared. Her ability to duel, sustain, and snowball in 1v1 situations has made her a frequent ban target by pro players.
Many of them have even preferred to avoid her altogether rather than learn how to play against her properly.
This sentiment was confirmed by EVOS talent and former pro player, Vann. “In my opinion, Freya is OP if the user knows how to play her. The reason pro players ban Freya in ranked is because we’re just too lazy to face her, and we gain nothing from the matchup,” he said during a live stream. His comment highlighted that Freya’s issue isn’t balance—it’s context.
Freya MLBB: Dominant in Ranked, Absent in MPL
From a mechanical standpoint, Freya in MLBB has been straightforward and brutal. She has relied on basic attack combos and crowd control to win duels.
But at the highest level, such as MPL, that style hasn’t been enough. MPL teams have played with heavy macro approaches—rotations, objective control, and tempo efficiency. That’s where Freya has lost her relevance.
“Freya won’t be used in MPL if we play with macro. She’s a one-lane-push hero,” Vann continued. His statement exposed Freya’s biggest limitation: she has dominated in a single lane, but contributed very little to team-wide movements. Her design has made her too narrow to fit into a five-man macro system with fluid rotations.
Freya has also lacked flexibility in the draft. She has required a stable lane, safe farm, and time to reach her power spike. In pro play, such conditions have been rare without sacrificing other parts of the map. A hero like this has often turned into a liability unless completely dominant.
Still, Freya in MLBB has held a special place in the hearts of solo queue players. She has offered a sense of superiority and complete control over her lane. As long as macro hasn’t been prioritized, Freya will always be a threat. But as long as MPL and top-tier tournaments continue to revolve around structure and team coordination, this hero will remain nothing more than a ranked legend.
