If you’ve read the latest volume of Attack on Titan manga, chances are, you already know about the realm called the Paths. Yet, some may still have questions about it. Here’s some info regarding the Paths in the Attack on Titan series.
What Are Paths?
Paths are channels that connect all the Titans and Subjects of Ymir, transferring the memories, wills, flesh and bones, and everything related to Titans.
The Nine Titans are sent to a random baby of Subjects of Ymir, if they die without being eaten, regardless of distance or blood relations. This indicates that the Subjects of Ymir are all connected by something invisible, called Paths.
Paths serve as the channels to transfer various things, such as memories; the wills of other Subjects of Ymir; the flesh and bones that make up a Titan’s body; commands from a Titan’s scream; and the power of the Titans.
The Paths seem to be more powerful by blood relations -- memories are transferred far easier between family members. For example, Karl Fritz’s vow renouncing war is only passed down to his bloodline.
The Ackermans are also connected by a certain Path, allowing them to gain combat experiences of all Ackermans from the past when they awaken.
Paths also surpass either the physical space and time, as indicated by Eren Kruger's memories of Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, long before they were even born.

A Brief History of the Paths
At a certain point, Ymir Fritz inhabits the unknown land where Paths are manifested. She molded the bodies of the Titans and sent them along the Paths throughout history.
According to Eren Yeager and Eren Kruger, one of the ancestors of the Attack on Titan saw the Paths.
Some Info Regarding the World of the Path
While Paths are completely invisible in the physical world, they can be seen by entering the World of the Path. In this realm, light-colored soil covers the ground and Paths manifest as trails of light in the sky resembling an aurora.
In the World of the Path, time is irrelevant and inconsistent. Zeke Yeager also states that it felt like he was there for years, but all of it was over in an instant.
Ymir Fritz inhabits the place as a little girl, often carrying a bucket of water. She can create anything out of the earth and is also the reason why Titans are capable to regenerate and transform since she’s the one who molds their bodies whenever the power of the Titans is called upon.
Ymir accessed the land after she gained the power of the Titans. As for Zeke Yeager, he enters the realm after being devoured by a nearby Titan, and Eren Yeager enters it when his decapitated head touches Zeke.
Zeke speculates that those who inherit the Founding Titan enter the realm to command Ymir Fritz.
