Having a PlayStation 4 (PS4) is surely every gamers’ dream in the whole world. Due to the graphics offered, almost all games from this console made by Sony can make gamers stunned in awe. 1. GPCS4
The first PS4 emulator that you know is GPCS4. This emulator once boomed among internet users back in February 2020 because it can run PS4 games -- even though it still has a minor downside like the total frame produced. The developer also working to make graphics and an optimal system for GPCS4 in the future.
Currently, GPCS4 is still under development to run PS4 games. And it’s been proven that only We are Doomed playable using GPCS4, and it’s on the lowest settings available and it’s very distinct from the original version.
Even though it’s beyond expectation, at least GPCS4 brings a big leap and innovation in the video game world because almost all PS4 emulators on the internet are hoaxes. One of the examples is PCSX4 as stated by PC Gamer on its website. According to PC Gamer, PCSX4 is a scam, a fraud that only beneficial to one party.
When you push the download button on the PCSX4 website, you will be directed to a suspicious survey. Even after you have passed the survey and download it, the PCSX4 cannot be launched. So, don’t let yourself get scammed with things on the internet.
Now, we’re back to GPCS4, this emulator is fully yet ready to be used publicly because the developer has to do many things before it launches. According to the latest news uploaded on Git Hub, the developer is currently more focusing on graphics implementation with Nier: Automata for the test run. Here are the results of launching the game by Square Enix that is far from perfect.
For your information, the GPCS4 is only a project for fun and research for developers. The developer also said that it is created to study 3D graphics -- not for running a serious application.

2. Orbital
Aside from GPCS4, there is another PS4 simulator that gives good news for gamers in 2019, named Orbital developed by AlexAltea. On its debut in March 2019, Orbital managed to give graphical output inside the screen. This was a significant development since the last year, even though currently this emulator is out of the picture.
The Orbital project itself has started in 2017 and it’s been 2 or t3 years as of today. This project comes with an open-source scheme that still cannot be used to play publicly. Currently, the Orbital can only kernel booting up to a certain limit and showing a few logs, which is a combination of numbers and alphabets in which the writer cannot decipher.
As states above, if Orbital up until today still can not be used freely for the public. But, if you are curious and want to know about the coding world, you can use three major components to run Orbital, they are BIOS, GRUB, and QEMU. You also have to configure emulators by discarding and describing all PS4 system files and sflash, including the kernel.

Verdict
For now, no emulators that can run PS4 properly, but at least there are still some developers who want to make a miracle. Maybe it takes more time or years for GPCS4 or Orbital can be used and run as it should be. Even so, these already an innovation, especially in the gaming and technology world because you don’t need to purchase PS4 anymore to play certain games.
If you still want to experience playing PS4 games, you can build your PC and play games that available on both platforms and use a joystick to enjoy the game. But, before able to play those games, you better check the PC specs first. Make sure the game that you wanted to play can’t be launched on your PC due to some requirement problems because it’s only wasting your money.
