ASUS has just announced a number of new motherboards for Intel 12th and 13th generation processors. In 2022, ASUS launched the cutting-edge Z790 motherboard platform. Designed to handle the most powerful 13th Gen Intel Core CPUs, these motherboards cater to the needs of PC enthusiasts, extreme overclockers, and professional gamers and creators. Currently, ASUS is expanding its motherboard product line by releasing the new Z790 and B760 models which feature different chipsets. This motherboard brings the latest Intel chips to a wider audience than previous motherboard versions. On the high-end version, ASUS revealed the new ROG Strix and ASUS Prime Z790 motherboards. Meanwhile, ASUS is also helping PC builder enthusiasts to push boundaries with a wide selection of B760 motherboards from the ROG Strix, TUF Gaming and Prime product lines.
A new way to beat the heat
Alongside the new motherboard options, ASUS has also rolled out a BIOS feature that provides an easy way to unleash the power of Intel's new 13th Gen CPUs while keeping them cool. Users of previous generations of ASUS motherboards may be familiar with the ASUS MultiCore Enhancement and ASUS Performance Enhancement features. This BIOS option allows users to increase their CPU beyond the default setting with an excellent cooling system. Now, ASUS has added new options to the two menus.
Like the existing mode, the new option removes the limitations holding back CPU boosting mode. In addition, this option will also apply the CPU temperature limit to 90°C. This will give users incredible multicore performance, but with controlled thermals. Even with restricted temperatures, ASUS MultiCore Enhancement and ASUS Performance Enhancement remain powerful tools for boosting CPU performance. ASUS engineers tested these two MultiCore Enhancement settings with an Intel Core i9 -13900K CPU. They also observed that the new settings could reduce CPU temperatures by a full 10°C while still offering very similar performance. This new mode suffers only a 2.8% drop in performance compared to the previous version, but still offers significant cooling benefits.
This new ASUS MultiCore Enhancement option will be available for ASUS Z790 motherboards that support overclocking, while a similar ASUS Performance Enhancement option will be rolled out on ASUS B760 motherboards. Users who already own the motherboard will be able to access the new features via a BIOS update.
