What is a Female Titan?

Before we dive into the theory, let’s take a closer look at the Female Titan, and what is its powers? The Female Titan, or Megata no Kyojin in Japanese, is one of the Nine Titans who possesses the ability to mimic the attributes of the other Titans with ease.

In the first season of Attack on Titan, we can see that the inheritor of the Female Titan, Annie Leonhart, uses various abilities such as hardened skin, as well as attracting Pure Titans with its screams.

The Female Titan was brought into the world following the death of Ymir Fritz. In 1,700 years after her death, the Female Titan was held in the possession of the Eldians who serve for the Founding Titan.

After seventeen centuries when Karl Fritz (the 145th King of the Fritz) abandoned the conflict of Eldia and left for Paradis Island, the Female Titan was taken by the Marleyans during the Great Titan War.

Around 843, Annie Leonhart was chosen to inherit the power of the Female Titan, who later used its power in the war between Marley and Paradis.

What Would Happen If A Man Inherited the Power of the Female Titan?

Up until now, we still don’t know whether the Female Titan can only be inherited by female humans. Since the current inheritor of the Female Titan’s powers is a female with feminine features, we call it the Female Titan to help us identify it.

Actually, the Female Titan is similar to other Titans as they are genderless and have no sexual characteristics. Take the Cart Titan and Jaw Titan, for example, which were wielded by female characters previously, yet the Titan forms don’t resemble any feminine features. And vice versa, it is likely if the power of the Female Titan was inherited by a man, the Titan form will not have male features.

But, doesn’t it sound even stranger? 

Or perhaps the Female Titan has an actual name, like the Crystal Titan, given that it has the ability to harden its skin into a crystal-like form and its physical features actually adjust to the user -- just like the Founding Titan.

Since there’s still little to no clue about the Female Titan, I think it’s safe to assume that a male who possesses the power of the Female Titan would have a Titan form with feminine features.
