The second 2022 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday, December 13, 2021, of the artist performing the new theme song for the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Popular rock band FLOW will perform the new opening theme song, and singer-songwriter Anly will perform the ending theme song. Both theme songs will premiere in the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in January 2022.

The current opening is performed by CHICHO with Honeyworks. The current ending is performed by the 11-member boyband JO1. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations enters the "Kawaki-hen tsutsuki Kakusei" arc (Kawaki Arc: Otsutsuki Awakening) in July 2021.

Viz Media is streaming the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime series on Hulu at the same time as the anime's broadcast in Japan. The anime is also available to watch on Crunchyroll. The anime also started airing on Toonami Adult Swim in September 2018. Viz Media is also releasing the anime as a home video.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime is based on Ukyo Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016. The manga moved to Shueisha's V Jump magazine in July 2019. Masashi Kishimoto took over from Kodachi as manga author starting from the 52nd chapter in November 2020.
