The official site for Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the latest project in the series of Space Battleship Yamato anime remakes, has just released its latest teaser trailer and visuals. This teaser not only introduces the production staff for the anime Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, but also reveals that this anime will be presented in the form of seven movies, starting with the first movie entitled Kuro no Shinryaku (Dark Invasion) on July 19th 2024.

Kia Asamiya, manga creator and mechanical designer (Silent Möbius, Nadesico), also illustrated the teaser visual for the anime Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199. This new teaser visual pays homage to the visuals of the 1980 movie Be Forever Yamato.

Naomichi Yamato (From the New World, director of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans episode) will be the director of the Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 anime, while Harutoshi Fukui, who also acts as the main writer and screenwriter as in the previous series, is now earned credit as supervising director.

Hideki Oka returned as co-writer of the scenario, Nobuteru Yuki as character designer, and Junichirō Tamamori, Mika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu were in charge of mechanical design. Hiroyuki Goto is the CG producer with Shōsuek Uechi as CG director, and Tomohiro Yoshida as sound director.

As with previous anime in the series, the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki is credited as the original creator, while his son, Shōji Nishizaki, was the main production supervisor and copyright supervisor. Akira Miyagawa returns to compose music with Shu Kanematsu.

Fukui previously revealed that Garman Garmillas will also appear in this project, referring to the remnant empire of Garmillas that appeared in Space Battleship Yamato III and Final Yamato. Confirmed to have 26 episodes, this story will begin in 2207, although the title of the movie is 3199. Fukui explained that the story will not immediately jump to 3199.

The Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 project is a continuation of the Uchu Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi - Kosho -STASHA- (Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha) which was released in February 2022.

Despite the same title as the 1980 movie, Yamato yo Towa ni (Be Forever Yamato), the movie's story does not take place in the year 3199. However, the 2004 OVA series Dai Yamato Zero-go set the story in that year.
