The highly-anticipated monthly event in Pokemon GO is back. Community Day Classic, which features the past Community Day events, will be held on Sunday, 10 April 2022, from 14:00 - 17:00 local time.

This time, the featured Pokemon is Mudkip. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity if you don’t have the Shiny form of the Mudkip Family given the increased chance of catching its Shiny during this event.

Mudkip can be evolved into Marshtomp and then Swampert. Don’t forget to evolve Mudkip/Marshtomp into Swampert before 19:00 local time to get the special Move Hydro Canon!

Swampert with its Hydro Canon can be quite powerful and is a must-have. You can use it in Great & Ultra League PvP Battles, as one of the cores in your lineup.

If you have Shadow Mudkip, you can evolve it into Shadow Swampert to get an alternative Pokemon to bolster your lineup. A Shadow Pokemon has a 20% increased attack but a 20% lower defense.

Secondly, Swampert can be quite great to have in your Raid Battle lineup if you don’t have great Attackers like Kyogre. Aside from Raids, Swampert can also be useful in fighting Team Rocket Grunts; Team Rocket Leader Cliff, Arlo, Sierra; or Team Rocket Boss Giovanni.

The attack speed from its Mud Shot combined with Hydro Cannon is very suitable in various situations. Swampert will also have a Mega Evolution. So, try to catch a high-IV Swampert to get the best out of its Mega Evolution.

This Mega Evolution is very powerful and potentially rivals the Legendary Kyogre as a Water-type Attacker. Catch as many Mudkip as possible to get its Candy & XL Candy that you can use for a power-up.

During this event, Incense and Lure Modules last for 3 hours. You’ll also get 3x XP from each catch. Therefore, prepare some Lucky Eggs to make it 6x XP. Try to get an Excellent Throw to get 1000 XP.
