Perona is one of the characters in One Piece who was first seen in the Thriller Bark arc. He ate the Horo Horo no Mi, turning him into a human who can summon ghosts. The ghost he summons is able to give negative energy to opponents, making them feel depressed.

In the Thriller Bark arc, Perona was able to trouble the Straw Hat pirates who visited her island. Perona can launch negative ghosts which successfully make Luffy and friends limp instantly. This ability works for most people, except those who are not as enthusiastic as Usopp from the start.

In the latest One Piece Magazine, it was revealed the shape of the Horo Horo no Mi fruit that Perona ate. In the image above, we can see the tip of the fruit which looks like a ghost. It is not told how Perona was able to eat this fruit in the first place. Perona was only told to be cared for by Gecko Moria since childhood.
