About BigHit Music
BigHit Music is one of the most influential music labels in South Korea, now operating under the umbrella of HYBE Corporation. Originally named Big Hit Entertainment, the label was founded on February 1, 2005, by renowned producer Bang Si-hyuk. From the very beginning, BigHit Music has been committed to delivering high-quality music with a global reach.
The label is home to some of the biggest names in the industry, including BTS, Tomorrow X Together (TXT), CORTIS, and soloist Lee Hyun. Over the years, BigHit Music has built a solid reputation for producing artists with strong musical identities and innovative promotional strategies that resonate worldwide.
About CORTIS
CORTIS is the latest boy group to debut under BigHit Music, arriving six years after TXT’s debut. The group’s name, CORTIS, is an acronym for “Color Outside the Lines,” symbolizing a spirit of creative freedom and the courage to break away from conventional boundaries in music.
According to BigHit Music, CORTIS is described as a “young creator crew,” highlighting the fact that all members actively participate in songwriting, choreography creation, music production, and even video production. This hands-on involvement sets them apart from many other K-pop groups that often focus solely on performance.
Debut Date and Music Plans for CORTIS
Their pre-release music video, GO!, dropped on August 11, 2025, via HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel. The track serves as an introduction to their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES. The group officially debuted on August 18, 2025, with the title track What You Want. An English version of the song, featuring American artist Teezo Touchdown, was released shortly after on August 22, 2025.
The debut mini album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES is scheduled for release on September 8, 2025, and will feature five tracks: What You Want, GO!, FaSHioN, JoyRide, and Lullaby. Impressively, all songs credit the members as lyricists and producers, reinforcing their image as a self-driven and creative group.

Early Highlights and Public Response
Even before their official debut, CORTIS had already sparked significant attention. Their first TikTok video, uploaded on their official account, gained over 1 million views in just 24 hours—despite the fact that the members’ faces had not yet been revealed. This demonstrates the high level of curiosity and anticipation surrounding the group.
Their pre-release track GO! also drew mixed reactions from listeners. Some praised its vibrant style and energetic vibe, while others criticized the heavy use of autotune. Nonetheless, the diverse reactions only fueled further discussions in the K-pop community, proving that CORTIS had succeeded in capturing the public’s interest.
With their unique concept, direct involvement in the creative process, and the full backing of BigHit Music and HYBE Corporation, CORTIS has the potential to become one of the most influential fifth-generation boy groups. Their journey is only beginning, but the buzz they have generated during the pre-debut stage signals a promising future in the global music industry.
