6. Gundam SEED (Cosmic Era)

This series is one of the best-selling series in the Gundam franchise along with The Mobile Suit Gundam (or the first Gundam) and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Gundam SEED has a sequel titled Gundam SEED Destiny.

The story begins with an attempt to hijack five Gundam units that were docked at the Heliopolis colony. At the time, a civilian named Kira Yamato was attending the Heliopolis Tech Academy was forced to pilot the last unit called Gundam Strike. As the story progress, he met other pilots named Athrun Zala.

Athrun is the childhood friend of Kira. But before they reunite, Athrun becomes one of the pilots of the organization that attempts to hijack the Gundams in Heliopolis.

7. Gundam 00 (Anno Domini)

The number is actually a symbol for counting the year in real life; Anno Domini. The story is based on the year 2307, almost 300 years after our present time, the humans in that era starts to lose the resources for energy creation. The humans then develop energy production using the sun, and there are three enormous generators managed by three different organizations.

Countries that don’t have access to the power source fall into poverty and chaos followed soon. During the chaos an organization named Celestial Being tried to solve the conflict by sending their four agents Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism, and Tieria Erde, to infiltrate the battle between the three organization with their Gundam

The story of Gundam 00 is said to be similar to Gundam Wing.

8. Gundam Age (Advanced Generation)

The story is based on the year 101 AG (Advanced generation), where mysterious creatures named Unknown Entity or UE appears and destroys the Angel colony. Seven years after the event, a colony where Flit Asuno and his mother lives were raided. His mother died during the attack, and Flit found a blueprint of an ancient weapon named Gundam owned by his mother.

Flit then studies the science behind it to create the mecha from the blueprint. Seven years later, in 115 AG, Flit successfully create the mecha, which he calls (Gundam) AGE-1.

9. Gundam G: G no Reconguista (Regild Century)

This series is one of the not well-received series by the fans. The story is almost similar to Turn A Gundam, including the backstory and several locations. The story begins when Bellri Zenam, a student from Capital Guard Academy, was attacked by a pilot of G-Self robot that they successfully caught and take. He then uses the robot to defend his colony. 

10. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans

The story of this Gundam series starts 300 years after a war that destroys the earth and the outer space colony. Earth then is governed by four economic organization and a military organization named Gjallarhorn that is responsible for peace-keeping. But the lives on Mars depends on the lives on Earth.

Since the condition on Mars is not going well, a young noble named Kudelia Aina Bernstein joins a Mars Independent movement and visit earth to negotiate. She is accompanied by the third division of Mars military that’s filled with underaged kids, including the main character, Mikazuki Augus.
