BLUELOCK's spin-off anime movie -Episode Nagi-, adapted from Kota Sannomiya's Blue Lock soccer manga, announced its release date via a trailer!

BLUELOCK - Episode Nagi-'s spin-off anime, adapted from Kōta Sannomiya's Blue Lock soccer manga, announced its release date via a new trailer. BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-, which is a derivative of the work of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, will be released in Japan on April 19th 2024.
In the announcement, the official website released a new visual for this film. The BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- will re-involve the same cast and staff members as in the television anime. Shunsuke Ishikawa, assistant director of the television anime, will direct the film at 8-Bit studios.
Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!, Silver Spoon, 2019 Fruits Basket) will supervise and write the script, while Kaneshiro of Blue Lock manga will supervise the story. Yusuke Nomura is credited as the character designer, while Jun Murayama is in charge of the music composition.
The main cast in this film includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Seishiro Nagi, Yuma Uchida as Reo Mikage, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Zantetsu Tsurugi, Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi, Tasuku Kaito as Meguru Bachira, Yuki Ono as Rensuke Kunigami, Soma Saito as Hyoma Chigiri, Kouki Uchiyama as Rin Itoshi, Hiroshi Kamiya as Jinpachi Ego, and Subaru Kimura as Ryo Nameoka.
BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- focuses the story on Seishiro Nagi before he enters the Blue Lock facility. This BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- spinoff manga, which will be released in print format in fall 2024 by Kodansha USA, presents an interesting story before the main events of the Blue Lock series.
The original version of Blue Lock was published by Kodansha USA in an English digital version and provides a print version as well. The story follows the struggles of the Japanese national football team after their humiliating defeat at the 2018 World Cup and their efforts to create a top striker for their national team. The manga first debuted in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018.
The BLUELOCK anime premiered in Japan in October 2022 and received positive reception. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series in Japan and streaming an English dub. The anime has also announced its second season.
