The creator of the Coral Island, Stairway Games, has now revealed what parts will occur in the upcoming Update 1.1. This will be the first major content update post the game's official launch. The Coral Island 1.1 update will follow the 2024 roadmap that was previously shared, although with several additional new updates. The game launched with several elements still in progress including the game's main mission. This upcoming update is scheduled to fix this.

The Coral Island 1.1 update will add the remaining parts of the Giants quest line and the Savannah region. This means the main missions won't have any missing parts that force you to pause the game if you're playing to follow the story. As with other content, the S-City Rank mission flow and its various categories received significant additions. 1. Merfolk Residents Update

In the upcoming update, you can find several new members of the Merfolk Kingdom, who work as tattoo artists, breeders, tavern owners, and senior guards. Rysy runs her tattoo shop where she designs all her tattoos and does not accept custom orders. For him, art transcends customs and he dedicates a lot of time to perfecting his art. Then there is Slamet, a farmer who can help you get animals for your underwater farm. He has trained and cared for many seahorses, mermoos, and many other underwater animals.

Then there is Jannu who is the owner of the local tavern, Sleepy Eel. He is single and not interested in dating; he is satisfied with his life and chooses not to let a relationship complicate things. You will be able to find him in the shop all the time, completely dedicating his life to his work. Tahat is a loyal guard who has served the kingdom for many years. He married what he considered to be the most beautiful sea creature in the world, namely Etna. They spent most of their lives in the kingdom and only traveled when there were assignments. Tahat is a man who is loyal to the kingdom, a trait he shares with his daughter, Denali.

2. Building Relationships in Merfolk

Once you've advanced enough in the game, you can start building relationships with the Merfolk. Where you can explore the similarities and differences of friends under the sea. You can also find out what they like and don't like, and perhaps uncover stories about their lives. Learn about your hobbies and interests, and if you talk to the right people, they might reveal the advantages and disadvantages of being named after a famous mountain.

3. Building Romance with Merfolks

In this upcoming 1.1 update, you will build romantic relationships with Merfolk residents. Later, you can find out what each Merfolk resident likes, you can give gifts to attract their hearts. Remember Erika's tip: everyone loves gifts. Now it's not just city residents, but also underwater lovers. This means that there will be a possibility of a new wedding location coming to your future partner.

4. Underwater Farm

As the game develops, it will allow you to unlock underwater farming. For farmers, after you clean up your underwater farm, you can move on to farming. But different from normal agriculture, for these underwater plants, what they need is not water but light. That's what a new tool called the Lumina Wand will provide, which you'll earn as you progress through the game. This stick functions to provide sufficient light for your water plants so they can grow well.

5. New Underwater Plants

You can then mix various land plants using underwater seedpod plants and see what you can produce. You can combine three objects which can later produce seeds for underwater plants as well.

6. New Sea and Animal Farms

If later you can access the underwater farm, then you can find five underwater animals that you can raise, namely Mermoo, Inkhog, Shellcluck, Carapoultry, and Seashroud. Just like animals on a farm, each of these cute animals produces something that you can of course sell. Just like the cows and sheep on your farm, on the sea farm, you also have to look after these underwater animals and feed them. Become a professional farmer and get access to these cute underwater farm animals.

7. Underwater Decorations

With the new underwater farm in the upcoming update, it will of course bring you new underwater decorations too. You can even decorate your house and sleep on the grass like other aquatic animals. You can also bring decorations from your favorite land for use in the water. 8. S-Rank Ocean

If you have seen an 'orchestra site' underwater, then this will play a key role in your achievement of reaching the S-Rank Ocean. When you reach that rank, Merfork people will dance around the orchestra which comes to life.

9. New Bubble Speeches with NPCs

In the next update, Coral Island 1.1, also look forward to updates in your conversations with the NPCs who are your partners. A speech bubble expressed by your partner will automatically appear above their head. This is a new test feature that the developers say is very immersive and helps bring the characters to life in their daily lives.

10. Revamped Decoration System

No less important, updates in the decoration experience have also now been significantly improved by the developer. In addition to UX improvements, floors, and walls are now treated as stackable items. When applying a floor or wall, you will get the item with a floaty appearance,  so you can easily reuse the patterns you have collected. This new feature will easily help you visualize which view is better with the item you are holding.

11. The Library is Now Filled

For book lovers, now the library will be increasingly filled as you increase your city ranking. Some books now offer benefits when read, such as mastery points. Apart from that, two special books provide permanent buffs that increase your relationship points acquisition rate.

12. Multiplayer and Switch Backer Features are Under Development

The Coral Island developer announced that they are currently carrying out extraordinary development to add multiplayer features to the Coral Island.
