Riot Games has just announced an official Wild Rift tournament in Indonesia, which will begin in March 2021. However, there’s been bad news coming from one of the major teams in the country, Bigetron Esports.
Yup, Bigetron Esports didn’t receive an invitation to the official Wild Rift tournament. This has made Edwin Chia, the CEO of Bigetron Esports, perplexed.
On his Instagram account, Edwin Chia has pointed out several important points on why his team deserves to be one of the invited teams.
- Bigetron Esports is committed to Wild Rift;
- Bigetron Esports’ Wild Rift roster is arguably the best in Indonesia;
- Is a professional team;
- Won multiple national titles in League of Legends PC;
- They’ve reached out to Riot Games’ Esports PIC in SEA.
He also questioned Riot Games regarding the criteria for a team to be eligible for the invitation -- as the two invited teams hadn’t even announced their official roster.
At the time of writing, Edwin Chia still hasn’t provided any updates on this issue. Hopefully, with this news, Riot Games will give a quick response and give the invitation for Bigetron Esports to partake in the Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021.
