Building Badang as a roamer has always been a bit tricky. Many players have still questioned how to make the most out of Badang in this role.
Badang has emerged as one of the more popular picks in the current META. He has appeared frequently in the competitive scene, with a skillset full of crowd control that has proven to be a nightmare for agile heroes and a massive asset in teamfights.
However, many players have still debated: if Badang is played as a roamer, should he go for a full tank build, or should he still include a bit of damage through Thunder Belt? After all, Thunder Belt has long been considered a signature item for Badang.
With Thunder Belt, Badang's CC-heavy skills—which deal damage—have dealt more impact, making him slightly more annoying and disruptive in skirmishes.
But the tradeoff has been clear: building Thunder Belt early has made Badang noticeably squishier. He has struggled to soak up enemy damage effectively. So what’s the actual solution for the best Badang Roamer build?
The Optimal Badang Roamer Build
If we take notes from one of the pro roamers who has found the most success using Badang Roamer, namely Falcons PH’s Owgwen, the answer becomes clearer. He has used Badang twice in the MPL PH Season 15 playoffs—and both times, Thunder Belt has remained part of his core build.
Badang has not been the type of roamer meant to simply be a frontline tank. Thunder Belt has played a crucial role in boosting his cooldown reduction and adding essential utility stats that synergize perfectly with Badang’s kit.
That’s why the optimal Badang Roamer build has still included Thunder Belt as the first core item, followed by full defensive items depending on the enemy’s main damage source.
Typically, Antique Cuirass or Radiant Armor have been the most common second items. From there, players have moved on to survivability items like Immortality or additional HP-based gear to maintain his frontline presence.
So, are you one of the players who has enjoyed running Badang as a roamer? Or do you still prefer him in the EXP lane for a more traditional fighter approach?
Either way, Thunder Belt has proven itself time and again as a must-have—even in this evolving roamer meta.
