Update 1.3 finally arrives. Alongside the update, we will welcome a new character. Xiao, one of the Geo Archon’s Yaksha. It’s guaranteed that Xiao will fill the DPS role in your team.

Xiao wields a polearm with an Anemo Vision. The young man is centered around his Normal Attack, Charge Attack, and Plunge Attack, meaning everything connected to the Whirlwind Thrust Talent. Xiao’s Elemental and Burst Skill is more of a utility, providing buff and support for Xiao.

Xiao DPS Build

As mentioned before, Xiao shines when you maximize his Whirlwind Thrust Talent (Normal Attack, Charge Attack, and Plunge Attack). Most of his damage came from that specific talent. Xiao’s Elemental and Burst Skill also provide buff and support for Whirlwind Thrust Talent.

Xiao’s Elemental Skill, Lemniscatic Wind Cycling, triggers him to lunge forward. The skill will deal Anemo damage and 3 particle elements. It has 2 charges.

For his Elemental Burst, Bane of All Evil, Xiao transforms into his Yaksha mode wearing a mask. He jumps higher and increases his attack DMG and AoE, and converts his attack DMG to Anemo DMG. FYI, Bane of All Evil will reduce Xiao’s HP when activated. So make sure to pay attention to his HP.

Weapon

Most Recommended

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear (5✰): On a hit, increases ATK by 3.2~6.0% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12~24%.

This is a weapon meant for Xiao. The effect of Primordial Jade Winged-Spear syncs with Xiao’s rapid attack.

Skyward Spine (5✰): Increases CRIT Rate by 8~16% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vaccuum blade that deals 40~100% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.

This is the weapon you use if you don’t have Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. With Skyward Spine, Xiao’s attack will be even faster. The effect also procs more often since Xiao relies on his Normal Attack. 

Other Options

Lithic Spear (4✰): Normal Attack hits have a 20% chance of causing the next Charged Attack performed in the following 10s to deal 40% increased DMG.

Deathmatch (4✰): If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16~32% and DEF is increased by 16~32%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24~48%.

Artifact

The recommended Artifact setup for DPS Xiao is:

• Timepiece: ATK% ;
• Goblet: Anemo DMG Bonus%/ATK%;
• Crown: Crit DMG%/Rate%.

The recommended Sub-stat for each Artifact is Crit Rate%, Crit DMG%, ATK% dan ATK.

Gladiator’s Finale + Viridescent Venerer Set:

• 2 set: Attack +18%;
• 2 set: Anemo DMG bonus +15%.

The combination of Gladiator’s Finale and Viridescent Venerer is the best for Xiao. Xiao needs Anemo DMG bonus since his Elemental Burst transforms his ATK DMG into Anemo DMG.

Viridescent Venerer Set

• 2 set: Anemo DMG bonus +15%;

• 4 set: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.

This is the most useful setup if you are playing with other people. For an Artifact or Talent Domain party.

Gladiator’s Finale Set:

• 2 set: Attack +18%;
• 4 set: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

Talent Priority

An abundant amount of resources are needed to raise Talent level, while it requires time to collect them. So the talent priority for Xiao is as followed:

1. Whirlwind Thrust (Normal Attack, Charge Attack, Plunge Attack);
2. Bane of All Evil (Elemental Burst);
3. Lemniscatic Wind Cycling (Elemental Skill).
