Reporting from Screen Rant, Stan Lee’s first appearance as a cameo happened on Fantastic Four #10 that released in 1963. In the comic, Lee, alongside his co-writer/artist Jack Kirby, appeared not only appear inside the comic book but also at the cover of the comic book itself.
On the cover, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were seen showing their back to the readers, making their faces obscure. These two important figures in Marvel history were seen discussing the plot of Fantastic Four #10 that will surprise the readers.
Inside the same comic book, the two reappeared again as a cameo, and again with obscure faces. This time, the two seen discussing inside Marvel Comics office about the most memorable supervillain. The two deplored about Doctor Doom who went missing in space on Fantastic Four #6.
In the middle of their discussion, the two shocked by the surprise appearance of Doctor Doom who entered the office room. The two wondered how he survived in space, and the masked supervillain replied lightly, “That was a long story. We will talk about it later.”
Doom’s answer surely left a massive plot hole to be filled, but the scene was made in humor and didn’t make readers felt too interrupted. Remembering that this was Lee’s first appearance ever in Marvel universe, this comic book is very memorable by many.
