Marvel comic book and movie fans are familiar with the legendary comic book artist Stan Lee who often appears as a cameo in Marvel films. Stan Lee passed away in 2018 and he appeared in more than 15 Marvel films. Even so, he also appeared as a cameo in multiple video games.

Stan Lee was instrumental to Marvel comics. Besides Spider-Man, Lee also helped created other Marvel superheroes such as Iron-Man, The Hulk, Ant-Man, The Avengers, and also Fantastic Four. Stan Lee passed away on 12 November 2018 at the age of 95 years old.

1. Spider-Man (2000)

Spider-Man (2000) is one of the superhero video games released to PlayStation (PS1). with 3D graphics, the game shows the adventure of Peter Parker beating criminals in New York City. What made the game unique is that this game marks Stan lee’s first cameo in a video game. You can’t see Stan Lee’s character in the game but you can hear his voice when you got into action or in the menu.

2. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (2001)

In Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, Stan Lee made another cameo. Again, it was another voice cameo that the player can hear on the menu. Gamers can hear Stan Lee’s voice explaining about the enemies that Spider-Man faced in the second game.

3. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (2009)

This was Stan Lee’s first cameo outside of a Spider-Man game. In Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, Stan Lee appeared as one of the characters called Senator Lieber. Interestingly, Lieber is Stanley’s birth name. Stan Lee’s appearance in the game is quite special since he played an important part in the game.

4. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (2010)

In Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man tried to stop Mysterio from robbing a museum, by accident, an artifact named Tablet of Order and Chaos were broken and was sent to another Spider-Man universe.

Stan Lee’s cameo in the game is not as a character but as the narrator that explains the story.

5. The Avengers Origins (2012)

The Avengers Origins is a mobile game released in 2012 and used as a promotion for the first Avengers film. In the game, Stan Lee was a narrator telling gamers about the stories of some of his most popular works such as The Avengers: Hulk and The Avengers Origins: Assemble!.

6. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

The Amazing Spider-Man features Stan Lee’s most unique cameo where the players can play not only as Peter Parker/Spider-Man but also Stan Lee! In the game, the player can play as Stan Lee with superpowers like Spider-Man to save New York City from criminals. The character is voiced by the late Stan Lee himself!

7. LEGO Marvel Superheroes (2013)

In LEGO Marvel Superheroes released in 2013, Stan Lee also appeared as one of the playable characters. In the game, Stan Lee has superpowers like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, even Hulk that can help the player complete the missions.

8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released by Activision in 2014 and it received critics from gamers. The open-world game failed to meet the gamer’s expectations. Still, Stan Lee has a cameo in this game. Stan Lee appeared as a comic book shopkeeper and gave a motivational message to Peter Parker.

9. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers (2014)

Stan Lee also made another cameo in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers that was released in 2014. Similar to the previous version, Stan Lee still has his superpowers. The game developer added new animations to make Stan Lee look more awesome. Stan Lee even owned his own Hulkbuster costume that you can use.

10. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (2017)

Stan Lee made another cameo in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. To unlock him, the player has to save Stan Lee from the 50 missions. And again, Stan Lee in the video game is blessed with superpowers like Thor, Spider-Man, and even Galactus! This results in Stan Lee becoming the strongest character in the series.

11. Spider-Man (2018)

PlayStation 4’s Spider-Man is Stan Lee’s last cameo as a living character. His appearance in the game is touching and unforgettable; he worshipped Peter Parker and Mary Jane as his favorite couple of all time.

12. Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020)

Stan Lee also appears as a cameo in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. You can see a Stan Lee statue to commemorate the late Marvel artist. Gamer can find the statue on Upper West Side. Upon locating the legendary statue, the player will unlock “Best Fries in Town” bronze trophy.
