Gecko Moria is the main antagonist faced by Luffy and his friends in the Thriller Bark arc. In the story, the Straw Hats managed to beat him. In fact, Moria had a chance of winning if he did some ways during the fight. Here are 10 ways that Gecko Moria could do to win from Luffy at Thriller Bark!

1. Take Nami's Shadow

Interested in Nami, Absalom intends to marry her. After kidnapping him, Absalom prepares a quite luxurious wedding for himself and Nami. Had Moria taken Nami's shadow back then, he might have had a chance to win.

Because that way, Absalom could join Moria more quickly for the fight against the Straw Hats. Because of his abilities, Absalom would be a troublesome opponent.

2. Moria Should Capture All His Victims

What Moria wants is to create an army of zombies after taking the shadows of the people he meets. As long as the person is alive, the shadow cast into the zombie will not disappear.

Unfortunately Moria didn't catch all of his victims so they could come up with a plan to strike back. Some of them were Lola from her comrades. Had he caught or even tortured his victims, Moria might have had an easier time dealing with the Straw Hats.

3. Ryuma Should Have Captured Brook

Brook is an immortal skull. This means that Ryuma will not be able to kill him in any way, except for Brook who has no shadow in the sun. Brook's presence is a threat to Gecko Moria because he knows the weaknesses of zombies.

If at that time Ryuma caught Brook and separated him from the Straw Hats, maybe Gecko Moria had a chance to win against them. This is because Luffy and his friends will not know the weaknesses of the zombies.

4. Casting a Better Shadow on Oars

Oars is a giant zombie that the Straw Hats face after Gecko Moria gives him Luffy's shadow. This makes him have a fighting style like Luffy, also a stupid nature like the Straw Hat captain.

If Moria had given him a better image like Zoro's or Sanji's, maybe Oars couldn't be defeated so easily.

5. Moria Should Receive Kuma's Help

Kuma's purpose in coming to Thriller Bark is to provide assistance to Gecko Moria so that he is not defeated by Luffy. But Moria refused Kuma's help because he himself believed he could get rid of the Straw Hats.

6. Using Jigoro and Inuppe at the End

Jigoro and Inupe are zombies born from the shadows of Zoro and Sanji. Just like Oars, both of them have the same traits as their shadow owners. They are indeed as strong as Sanji and Zoro, unfortunately the timing to use them is not right.

8. Moria Should Take Care of Perona

Even though their shadows have been taken, Lola and her friends in the Rolling Pirates group still stay at Thriller Bark. This was one of Moria's faults because they were looking for a way to defeat him.

In the end Lola put 100 shadows into Luffy so he could defeat Oars. If the Rolling Pirates weren't around, maybe Luffy would have a hard time fighting Moria and Oars.

10. Moria vs Luffy
