MPL ID Season 14 has been a difficult season for EVOS Glory. This team with a history of great achievements had to accept the bitter reality of failing to qualify for the playoffs for the third time (MPL ID S10, S12 and S14).
Coach Age Leaks the Future of the EVOS Glory Roster
Coach Age, a coach who is very experienced in the Indonesian Mobile Legends scene, gave his views regarding the future of the EVOS Glory roster in an interview in the MPL ID S14 media room. When asked about the possibility of a team shake-up, Age gave a realistic answer.
"Maybe when it comes to a revamp, gameplay will definitely be affected. But the most important thing is the players' knowledge. If they want to stay, they have to improve their in-game knowledge. They’re working in Mobile Legends, making a career out of it, so they need to improve their in-game knowledge to understand how the tournament realistically plays out," said Coach Age.
Age explained that the key factor isn’t just changing the roster but ensuring that each player truly understands and masters in-game knowledge. According to him, improving knowledge is the key to competing at the highest level.
"So, if the players' knowledge is still average, and they can't improve, then maybe EVOS won’t retain them. To check that, we’ll see from the trials," added Age.
In this regard, Coach Age emphasized that before considering a revamp, EVOS will conduct evaluations through trials to determine if the current players can develop. Only those who show improvements in their in-game knowledge and strategic understanding will likely be kept for the next season.
Coach Age highlighted the importance of evaluation, rather than just changing the roster without a proper plan. He believes that revamping the team could be a solution, but it won’t necessarily guarantee better results unless the players' skills and in-game knowledge also improve.
"A revamp could be a solution, but revamping the roster might not be the answer either, so we need to test it out first," he continued. "That is, if I’m still with EVOS."
This statement indicates that the future of EVOS Glory next season will greatly depend on the results of a comprehensive evaluation that will be carried out by the management team and coaches. Players will be judged on their ability to adapt, improve and understand better strategies for more realistic tournaments.
EVOS Glory's future in MPL ID next season is still in the evaluation stage. Coach Age emphasizes the importance of increasing in-game knowledge as a top priority, not just an instant roster overhaul. Players who can show improvement through trials will get the chance to stay with the team, while others may have to face the reality of a revamp.
Will big changes occur at EVOS Glory? We will know the answer after management and the coaching team complete their evaluation. What is certain is that EVOS Glory remains one of the teams that is always eagerly awaited on the Indonesian esports scene, and the steps they take next will be a big highlight for fans.
