The official website for the Code Geass franchise announced that the Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture anime (originally titled Code Geass: Z of the Recapture, or Dakkan no Zetto) will consist of four parts that will air in Japan starting May 2024.

Additionally, the website also released the latest Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture trailer, visuals, cast list, and more related staff. The video shows and previews the opening theme song "Running In My Head" by MIYAVI.

The Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture anime will feature:

• Kohei Amasaki as Rozé
• Makoto Furukawa as Ash

Yoshimitsu Ohashi (Amnesia, Galaxy Angel, Sacred Seven) will direct the new anime, with Noboru Kimura (Princess Principal: Crown Handler, Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they?) responsible for writing the script. Takahiro Kimura will return as character designer, working with Shuichi Shimamura based on the original character designs created by CLAMP.

Junichi Akutsu (Code Geass) also returns to design Knightmare Frames, and Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell) will compose the music. Sunrise, Ichiro Okouchi, and Goro Taniguchi remain credited for the original story.

Satoshi Shigeta (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed) will handle the mechanical design for Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, while Takahiro Kimura, Shuichi Shimamura, Seiichi Nakatani, Satoshi Shigeta, and Takashi Hashimoto will be the main animators. Kazuhiro Obata (Long Riders!) served as art director, with Ami Kutsuna (Garo -Vanishing Line-) and Yuichi Kuboki (The World God Only Knows) taking care of the color design.

The first compilation trilogy of the franchise, Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Kodo, premiered in Japan in October 2017. The second movie, Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Hando, was released in Japan in February 2018, while the third movie, Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Odo, premiered in May 2018. Funimation released all three on Blu-ray Disc.

The newest anime in the franchise, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Surrection, premiered in February 2019 in 120 theaters in Japan, and Funimation premiered it in May 2019. In April 2019, producer Kojiro Taniguchi called the movie "phase 1" of his 10-year plan for new content in the Code Geass franchise.
