Approaching October 2024, Venom will return in its third sequel Venom: The Last Dance. Sony confirmed that this will be the final film in the Venom movie franchise in their universe. Fans can get ready to meet new enemies that will be introduced in this film.

The question is who are the enemies that will appear in Venom: The Last Dance? Take a look at the list below.

1. Toxin

In The Last Dance, Venom will face challenging new enemies, and one of the main enemies he will encounter is Toxin. Detective Patrick Mulligan, who hosts the Symbiote Toxin, was introduced to fans at the end of the previous film, Let There Be Carnage. The first trailer for The Last Dance gives an idea of ​​how the military captured Mulligan.

As the military already knew about Venom and Eddie Brock, they also realized that Mulligan had fused with the Symbiote Toxin. This was the reason behind Mulligan's detention and isolation in a military facility. While the Symbiote Toxin itself hasn't been fully featured in the trailer, it's clear that Mulligan will be a host to Toxin.

In the comics, Patrick Mulligan alias Toxin first appeared in 2004’s Venom vs Carnage #1. Mulligan, a police officer, hopes to become a superhero after uniting with the Toxin symbiote. Toxin, a descendant of the Carnage symbiote, is predicted to be the strongest among all symbiote lineages.

Toxin also acts as an antihero where Pat Mulligan and Toxin perform heroic acts as well as horrific acts. However, their adventure ends tragically when Mulligan is attacked by Blackheart and left in a ditch to die.

Although Toxin once united with Eddie Brock in the comics, in The Last Dance movie, Toxin's presence will focus on the conflict between Toxin and Venom, while Mulligan probably won't be the only villain in the film, and he is predicted to be the main antagonist based on the premiere trailer.

Apart from Toxin, the trailer hints at the possible presence of several other enemies. However, with this film being the conclusion to the Venom franchise in the Sony universe, there will be adjustments to the story from the comics.

Maybe Eddie Brock and Venom will face the challenge of defeating Toxin, not Blackheart, as happened in the comics. With that said, The Last Dance promises epic battles and a satisfying ending for Venom fans.

2. Entities from Klyntar

In The Last Dance, Venom will face repeated threats from Patrick Mulligan aka Toxin, and also from the Symbiotes and monsters from the planet Klyntar. In Marvel Comics lore, Symbiotes are a race of aliens originating from a planet called Klyntar. Like Venom, these creatures can survive by fusing with other living creatures.

When a Symbiote fuses with a host, it bestows increased powers and abilities on that host. However, this also often brings personality changes and conflicts within the host. The trailer for The Last Dance shows a meteor falling to Earth, most likely a Symbiote from the planet Klyntar that has come to hunt Venom.

These Symbiotes are not only chasing Venom but are also being targeted by the military and other Symbiote creatures as well. In the trailer, Venom explains to Eddie his origins, indicating that the relationship between Venom and his home planet will be a focus of the film.

In the comics, the Venom Symbiote is considered something different and is rejected by fellow Symbiotes for several reasons. However, there are interesting facts regarding the origins of this instability involving Deadpool in Deadpool's Secret Wars story. While this story may not be adapted into a film, it does show the complexity of the relationship between Venom and the other Symbiotes.

The Klyntar Symbiotes consider themselves the guardians of the universe and see Venom and Eddie as threats to their race. They send an army of monsters to confront the two, including possibly Grendel, a giant dragon Symbiote, or Xenophage, a murderous creature that targets the Klyntar Symbiote host.

Facing threats from Toxin, the Symbiote monster, and possibly other monsters from the planet Klyntar, Venom, and Eddie Brock will face their toughest test in The Last Dance.

3. Threats from Other Adversaries

Apart from main enemies such as Patrick Mulligan alias Toxin and monsters from the planet Klyntar, Venom will also face challenges from the military led by the character played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Although it has not been revealed who Ejiofor's character is and whether he will be a protagonist or antagonist, the trailer shows that the character poses a threat to Venom.

Chiwetel Ejiofor leads an army in pursuit of Eddie Brock and Venom, to separate Eddie from the Symbiote and return it to its home planet. Even though Ejiofor's role may not be as big as Patrick Mulligan aka Toxin or the Klyntar monsters, his presence adds to the complexity of the conflict facing Venom.

Another question haunting fans is whether The Last Dance will introduce the character of Knull, the Symbiote God. In the 2018 Venom comic, Donny Cates changed the Symbiote mythology by introducing Knull as their creator.

Knull, one of the oldest beings in the Marvel Universe, orders war against the Celestials, using the Necrosword to create more Symbiotes after defeating them.

While Knull's presence in The Last Dance seems unlikely due to the film being the conclusion to Sony's Venom franchise, Sony could still depict Knull through flashbacks or references. Most likely, the Symbiote troops who appear on Earth in the film are commanded by Knull, although Knull himself will not appear directly.

By depicting Knull's influence, Sony could open the door for further development in Venom's potential story in the future.
