The 27th Detective Conan anime movie has announced its release date which will fall during Japan's Golden Week holiday of 2024, from Friday, April 26th to Sunday, May 5th. With the mysterious tagline "Black 'Crow'sing," the movie promises an exciting adventure for loyal Conan Edogawa fans.
The previous movie, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine (Iron Submarine), the 26th movie in the franchise, premiered in Japan two weeks before the Golden Week holiday and set a record as the best three-day opening in the franchise's history.
The movie sold 2.17 million tickets and earned approximately 3.14 billion yen (approximately Rp314 billion) in its first three days of release. It is the first movie in the franchise to gross more than 10 billion yen.
As of June, Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine had sold 9.26 million tickets with revenues of 13.12 billion yen (approximately Rp1.3 trillion), making it into the list of all-time highest-grossing movies in Japan at 25th place. It is also the highest-grossing movie of the year in Japan, only surpassed by The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
