On Saturday, February 29, 2020, Dunia Games officially opened the DGL 2020 Grand Final which features a total of 16 of the strongest teams in Indonesia. 

This competition doesn’t only feature the battle between those 16 teams, but there are also PUBG Mobile Ladies teams that are also competing along with a performance from Pee Wee Gaskins.

The competition was opened by Crispin P. Tristram as the Head of Digital Lifestyle of Telkomsel, who said that DG League 2020 is the second amateur competition that has been organized by Dunia Games after it was previously held in 2018. 

This competition is divided into four rounds of qualifications, including Pro Qualifiers, Amateur Qualifiers, Online Qualifiers, and Campus Qualifiers. Lastly, he ended his statement with “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner”

Meanwhile, the statement from Fendy Tan, the Community Manager of PUBG Mobile, stated that PUBG Mobile currently has been downloaded by 600 million people with Indonesia being the main source of downloaders.

He’s also proud of this competition. Fendy Tan also said that PUBG Mobile will bring a surprise in line with celebrating the second year of the event.

Not to mention, a statement from Raden Isnanta as the Deputy of Sports Culture that gave his warm welcome to the attendees at the venue. He’s also happy with the fact that Esports are no longer being underestimated in Indonesia, and hoped that the teams that are competing in the event will uphold the spirit of sportsmanship.

Rezaly Surya Afhany as the Esports Manager from Telkomsel added that the DGL 2020 organized by Telkomsel has been a huge success. It is proven by the massive amount of viewers attending the Pro Qualifier rounds, the event even had the chance to top the trending video on YouTube.

Then speaking about obstacles of the event, Bang Jaly said that the competition only had some minor issues at the beginning, it could even be said to be an impeccable event.

For the future, he expected that both Dunia Games and Telkomsel will continue to be the catalysts for anyone who aspires to be part of the world of Esports.
