As the only PC games at IGC 2020, Bigetron made a surprise by bringing former LoL pro players in their roster.
Take a look at their roster:
- Henry ‘Henry’ Nathaniel (Captain);
- Lee “Something” Beumchan;
- Bashori ‘Alvez’ Alwi;
- Gerry ‘Potatoo’ Arisena;
- Muhammad ‘Sega’ Adhitya;
- Christopher ‘WeWe’;
- Bayu ‘Cruzher’ Putera (Coach).
The names above may sound familiar to you. Like Lee Beumchan (MakeMeInspire) and his intimidating Darius. Alvez, WeWe, Sega, and Henry that were a member of Armored Core, and top tier pro players such as Potatoo and the former LoL national team coach at SEA Games, Cruzher.
Interviewing Ade ‘Dee’ Wahyuni, the manager of Bigetron Nexus, the team was formed because of the Hyperplay 2018 tournament under Armored Project. Despite the group’s abrupt creation, the managed to win tournaments held in Indonesia and finally re-organized under Bigetron.
“It started with the Hyperplay 2018 tournament, the team was formed with no preparation by Armored Project and managed to win tournaments in Indonesia. After changing to multiple teams under the same core roster, the team is re-organized under Bigetron to win IGC 2020.”
Dee stated that the members looked really happy to return to the pro scene because it’s a way for them to meet and face the old teams.
“The LoL pro scene is really exciting, it’s like a reunion with the old teams that we faced before such as Team Vi/ZHR, and MOT. I’m really glad with their drastic improvement.”
Considered as one of the front runners in IGC 2020, Dee responds that it’s normal, especially whn the team has Sega that is the best Gnar player in Indonesia.
“We have Aditya "Sega best Gnar Indonesia" Fadhillah in our roster, so it’s not surprising that the community thinks that our team is the front runner in the tournament. We are happy that the community thinks of us like that.”
Even if they are the strongest team, Henry and friends are still keeping a close eye on one of their opponents, Raphael from team Domes. They think that Domes has an exotic and sexy playstyle -- not many Indonesians can play like him.
Team-wise, Professional Vi is the team they are most conscious of because the revision made that team far above the average.
Dee as the manager of Bigetron Nexus hoped that the League of Legends community in Indonesia will grow to better and more lively in the future.
“We hope that the League of Legends community in Indonesia is going to be active and lively like in the past, it’s more exciting if we have more teams to play against.”
Dee also thanked IGC 2020 for presenting a League of Legends tournament because a tournament of this MOBA game has been absent in Indonesia for a long time -- and become the last tournament before the majority of Indonesian LoL players move to Wild Rift.
“We want to thank IGC 2020 for organizing this LoL tournament and for considering LoL as one of the games to be in the event. IGC LoL 2020 is like a reminder and the introduction of the game to the public because this may be our last LoL tournament before the majority of the player moved to LoL Wild Rift.”
Bigetron Nexus have played twice and earned a full point. Next week, Henry and friends will play two strong teams, Professional Vi and Domes Team.
