Despite more and more people leaving the topic, the drama involving GothamChess and Dewa Kipas, whose real name is Dadang Subur, gets more intense. In case you missed it, the story began when GothamChess and Dewa Kipas play against each other at Chess.com. GothamChess, who’s known as the international chess master, was defeated by Dewa Kipas, who was an unknown chess player.

GothamChess had doubts about Dewa Kipas’ accuracy -- and thought that Dewa Kipas might be a cheater. His fans responded to his statement, which eventually caused Dewa Kipas’ account to get blocked as lots of players were reporting him.

Knowing that Dewa Kipas was blocked, Ali Akbar, Dadang Subur’s son, was furious at the action from GothamChess’ fans, which led to him venting his thoughts on Facebook.

Since the story was trending on Facebook, the drama became the talking point for many people in Indonesia. Although both parties had made peace, it wasn’t the case for Indonesian netizens.

They were still attacking GothamChess on social media, including YouTube. GothamChess eventually got fed up and block Indonesian viewers from his YouTube channel. He even made his social media accounts private.

Rather than subsiding, the story gets even more complex after Ali Akbar and Dadang Subur, the owner of the account Dewa Kipas, made an appearance on Deddy Corbozier's podcast. Irene Kharisma Sukandar, the professional chess player who’s also the first Indonesian International Woman Grandmaster finally gives her take on the issue!

She wrote an open letter on her Twitter account and asked the people who get involved in the matter to get the story straight -- as it has hurt a lot of parties. The open letter has since been responded to by Deddy Corbuzier, who will invite her to his podcast on Wednesday (17/3).
