Synopsis of Dungeon Meshi

The story begins with the adventurous Knight Laios Touden leading a small party through a seemingly endless dungeon, an underground labyrinth full of dangerous monsters and treacherous traps. While Laios and his teammates were exploring, a colleague named Falin was suddenly eaten by a powerful dragon which finished off their team.

Shortly before being swallowed, Falin cast advanced magic which brought all his friends out of the Dungeon except herself. Laios' sister cast a spell that made Laios and his friends return to the beginning to save them from the Dragon's attack.

Upon realizing that there is no Falin outside the Dungeon, Laios decides to fight his way through the dungeon once again to save Falin before she can be digested by the dragon that swallows her. However, on this trip they were very short of money and equipment. Even though some of Laios' colleagues left him, two people remained by his side, namely the elf wizard Marcille Donato and the master locksmith Chilchuck Tims.

Since they were currently low on funds, the party faced the high possibility of starvation before being able to complete their mission. However, Laios found a solution, namely by eating the flesh of the monsters in the dungeon. This leads them to meet Senshi, a dwarf warrior with a penchant for cooking and eating the monsters he defeats in the Dungeon. With the Senshi's culinary skills, Laios and his friends can now fight their way through the dungeons while learning about fine dining using the dungeon's monsters along their journey.

Usually, the world of dungeon exploration is focused on expeditions to attack various kinds of monsters to find treasure or mysterious kingdoms of gold, in Dungeon Meshi that is not the aim of Laios and his friends in exploring the Dungeon. After failing in his first expedition when he failed to kill a red dragon and was forced to flee because it ate the sister of its leader, Falin, a high-ranking spellcaster.

Laios Touden, a tall swordsman, Chilchuck Tims, a part-time master locksmith, and Marcille Donato an elf spellcaster, mourn Falin and decide to return to the dungeon to find her. But because this time they were short on equipment costs and money for food, they decided to eat the monsters in the Dungeon. Dungeon Meshi Release Date

As announced at Anime Expo 2023, Delicious in Dungeon is scheduled to premiere in January 2024 on Netflix and will be available worldwide upon release. This anime is also scheduled to air in two consecutive parts (cours) from January to June, which means there will be no season breaks and will have a maximum of 26 episodes.
