Finally, for the first time in history, EA announced cross-platform gaming or also known as cross-play for their game. This feature will come as an update for Need For Speed Heat that will come on Wednesday (10/6).

With the inclusion of cross-play, players can play the game online with other players using other consoles. Both players who play using PC (both via Steam or Origin), PlayStation 4, to Xbox One, can play the game together.

To play with your friends who use a different console, EA later adds Find Players menu. In this menu, you can see your friends who are currently online via the EA Friends tab.

Previously, Criterion Games already promised new things forNeed For Speed Heat and Need For Speed series. This thing is seen from the EA Play presentation that scheduled on June 18. It looks like aside from introducing cross-play, we will see other features that will be added to the game.

Even though it’s a little bit late compared to other publishers, EA’s decision to add cross-play is worth thumbs up. Hopefully, we can have a similar feature on other EA games such as FIFA and Apex Legends.
