One of the mysteries in One Piece world is who’s Luffy’s mother. During the story, Luffy never mentions his mother. It turns out that Eiichiro Oda has a reason why he doesn’t want to reveal the mother of the aspiring Pirate King.

Recently, the voice actor of Luffy, Mayumi Tanaka, was curious about Luffy’s mother. She once asked Oda about this. Mayumi-san said that Oda didn’t want to talk about Luffy’s family background.

“Luffy’s journey began after he left his mother. I wanted to tell this boy’s journey, so his mother is not a part of the story” said Eiichiro Oda according to Mayumi-san’s statement. We can conclude that Oda is more focusing on Luffy to be the Pirate King so he won’t talk about his mother.

Back then, Oda stated that Luffy’s mother is a strong woman, but he doesn’t want to show her in the story.
