Aside from Big Mom and Charlotte Katakuri, Charlotte Perospero is also one of the antagonists in the Whole Cake Island arc. Pedro who had fought him had to sacrifice himself to save Luffy and the others. Here are five facts on Charlotte Perospero that you need to know as a One Piece fan!

1. His Devil Fruit’s Ability

Perospero ate the Pero Pero no Mi which allows him the ability to create and manipulate candy at will. While it sounds so trivial, this ability has been proven to be highly dangerous. First off, he can construct many things using his candy, such as a replica of Caesar Clown’s lab in Punk Hazard and even escalators. Perospero can also use to immobilize opponents, completely restricting their movements.

His candy ability can even hold down the entire Vinsmokes in Germa 66 and Capone Bege’s castle. Perospero can also turn people into candies by covering them with candy, which seeps into their bodies and killing them slowly. However, this candy is susceptible to heat and fire.

2. Lost His Right Arm

Pedro fought Perospero to help Luffy and his friends to get away from Big Mom. With a strong will, Pedro even had to sacrifice himself to defeat Perospero by blowing himself up using dynamite.

It’s not confirmed yet whether Pedro died or not, what’s obvious is that after the attack, Perospero has lost his right arm, which he replaces with a candy prosthesis. It makes sense since he’s a Paramecia user, not Logia.

Perospero’s sadistic nature was seen when he threatened Caesar to turned him into candy while also squeezing his heart for fun. He also loves to mock and play some mind tricks on people who fell into his traps like Vinsmoke Judge who’s made crying by him.

4. Lied to Big Mom

In addition to his sadistic nature, Perospero also doesn’t know fear. It’s shown when he got the audacity to lied to Big Mom by saying that the Straw Hats have the wedding cake that his mom was desperately looking for. Even that Big Mom had threatened to kill him if he lied, but Perospero wasn’t afraid and managed to keep a straight face in order to chase down the Straw Hats.

5. Big Mom’s Eldest Child

Perospero became the first child Big Mom’s ever bear when she’s 18. Even so, it seems like Katakuri still looks more mature than him.

6. His Bounty

Although it’s not as high as Katakuri’s who reaches more than one billion Bellies, Perospero’s bounty is pretty high, around 700,000,000 Bellies. His power probably equals to the Three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates.
