Entering the end of May 2025, Bandai Namco as the developer of Tekken 8 announced the release of a new DLC character in the game. This announcement coincided with the Combo Breaker tournament taking place in the United States.

Uniquely in this announcement, the developer did not only announce one character, but 2 characters at once. The two new characters are Fahkumram and Armor King.

On May 26, 2025, coinciding with the implementation of the Fighting Games Combo Breaker Tournament, Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray announced the release of the gameplay trailer for the character Fahkumram as the 2nd DLC character in season 2 of Tekken 8.

From the trailer, it can be seen that Fahkumram's design has not changed much. He still adapts a similar concept to his default costume in Tekken 7.

The same thing also applies in terms of gameplay. Having a fairly large attack range and having many options and combinations of attacks or mix ups in the middle of his string is still one of the characteristics of this character.

The unique thing that is seen from the trailer is the signs of the presence of an install or stack feature in this character. This is because when launching several attacks, he will have a red aura and then the aura will disappear again after using certain attacks. This mechanic is most likely similar to Eddy and Asuka.

Fakhumram himself will be present in the game on July 11 and early access will start on July 8.

Surprisingly, Armor King Was Also Announced

In addition to showing the gameplay trailer and the release schedule for the Fahkumram character, Combo Breaker tournament viewers were also surprised by the announcement of the presence of the Armor King character in the game.

This announcement is quite unique, because this is the first time the developer has announced more than 1 character in 1 day of announcement. In addition, the presence of this character is also greeted with joy by many fans, because this character has a fairly large fanbase in the history of the Tekken Franchise.

The hype from the Armor King announcement is also considered by the community as a turning point for the revival of Tekken 8's popularity, which was declining due to the impact of the balancing patch update which was considered very bad by players.
