Aside from Kratos, in God of War (2018) which released on PlayStation 4, the game also introduced a new, supporting character named Atreus. This boy is Kratos’ son and maybe later will be the successor of the God of War himself in the franchise. Not much information given by the Santa Monica Studio as the developer, but the writer had compiled a few facts about him that you can read below.

Did you know that Atreus is the name of Mycenae King in Peloponnese in Greek mythology? The original Atreus is the son of Pelops and Hippodamia, where Pelops himself is not related to Kratos. So maybe in future installments, we can learn about Atreus’ origins. But Pelops is the grandson of Zeus in Greek mythology.

4. Kekuatan Menyerupai Zeus

Since Atreus serves as the grandson of Zeus, he inherits a few electricity powers that similar to his grandfather. This thing makes Atreus can launch an arrow imbued with lighting to deal more damage. Atreus also has the ability like his father has like superhuman strength and running tirelessly. The archery skill he has also an interesting thing because Kratos doesn’t have a similar ability.

3. Ibu Atreus

Atreus’ mother is Faye, and not much information is known regarding her aside from being Kratos’ second wife. But since she’s passed away before the game takes place, it can be assumed that she is not a god. Also, Faye looks like she has a magical ability that inherited to Atreus. It is shown that Atreus can hold a magic attack and even makes Kratos hypnotized to enter a bright white light.

2. Atreus Tidak Abadi

Atreus looks like will be like his mother where he doesn’t have immortality like his grandfather, Zeus. Little Atreus is so prone, so he can be killed easily by stronger enemies. But according to the God of War story, the adult Atreus can be a serious threat to Nordic gods.

In Nordic mythology, there are 29 giant monsters, and one of them is Jormungandr. Since Atreus can communicate with Jormungandr, it's possible for him to summon other monsters in the next installment.
