10 Facts about Bartolomeo, Luffy's Biggest Fan in One Piece!

Bartolomeo was first introduced as a dangerous pirate. No one would have thought that he was a big fan of the Straw Hats. If he meets the Straw Hat crew, his behavior will be drastically different. This time, Dunia Games would like to discuss the facts about Bartolomeo in One Piece. Have a look!
1. Called “The Cannibal”
Because he has the nickname "Cannibal", it doesn't mean that Bartolomeo eats humans. Actually, it's just a play. In Japan, "eating people" can be interpreted as mocking others. Yes, the nickname was given because Bartolomeo often mocked other people. Basically, Bartolomeo does have a bad attitude like an uneducated person.
2. Looking for Trouble Towards Shanks
After parting ways with Luffy, Bartolomeo came to an island where he was seen putting up the flag of the Akagami pirates. Interestingly Bartolomeo even burned the pirate flag and distributed straw hat pirate pins. and what he did would certainly enrage Shanks.
On the cover of manga chapter 875, we can see Bartolomeo burning Shanks' flag. It is feared that this will make Shanks so angry that he finally targets Bartolomeo.
3. His Devil Fruit
Bartolomeo ate the Bari Bari no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gives him the ability to create an invisible barrier. Thanks to this ability, Bartolomeo has very formidable defensive abilities. He uses his ability by crossing his middle finger over his index finger.
He can use this barrier to protect himself and others from enemy attacks. This shield seems impossible to penetrate or destroyed. The shield is able to block Hack and Bellamy’s powerful attacks. The shield even manages to block super strong attacks like Elizabello II's "King Punch".
4. The Bari Bari no Mi User Before Bartolomeo
Bartolomeo has the Bari Bari No Mi devil fruit which allows him to create barriers. It turns out that this devil fruit power used to be owned by a member of the Kurozumi clan, and that person was Semimaru who helped Orochi take the Shogun throne from the Kozuki family.
The very strong Kozuki Oden couldn't even break through this shield. It is not explained how Bartolomeo got the fruit, what is clear is that the previous owner was Semimaru.

Bartolomeo is a diehard fan of Luffy after the events of Loguetown. He continues to follow the activities of the Straw Hat Pirates through the newspaper. Bartolomeo also admires the entire crew as a whole. He said that he follows all the news about them and looks starstruck when he meets Luffy and Zoro.
Oda has not yet confirmed who is the Deputy Captain of the Straw Hats. But Bartolomeo reveals that to him, Zoro is the Vice-Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.

6. Arrived at Loguetown When Luffy Was Almost Killed
Bartolomeo was in Loguetown two years ago when he witnessed Luffy being saved by lightning from Buggy's attempted execution. Since then, he is amazed and admires him and follows all the news about Luffy and the Straw Hats.
The level of his fanboying is described as that of a severe obsession. When he meets Luffy, he cannot speak and faints several times. He will even fight anyone who dares to oppose Luffy. Bartolomeo once stated that the Straw Hat captain would become the next pirate king. Then after Sabo's arrival, Bartolomeo stated that he would help get Mera Mera no Mi for him.
7. Before Becoming a Pirate
For many years, Bartolomeo was the leader of a mafia that controlled more than 150 cities. Two years ago, he was in Loguetown when Luffy was about to be executed by Buggy. He witnessed what he called a miracle when Luffy was saved by a lightning strike.
Since then, Bartolomeo has been obsessed with the straw hat and has always followed news about him and his crew from Alabasta, Enies Lobby, and Impel Down. After Luffy's actions during the war at Marineford, he decided to become a pirate and set off on a voyage.
8. Was Able to Go to the New World Without a Navigator
Bartolomeo can be said to be very lucky because he was able to arrive in New World without a navigator, even though the New World's oceans are very harsh. Pirates with good navigators may not be able to reach the New World.
In chapter 802, it was revealed that the group doesn't have a navigator. Sometimes one of Bartolomeo's crew, Gambia, asks his grandmother for advice when they are in trouble. Even though the advice given was not clear, they were able to magically arrive at New World.
9. The Second Captain of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet
After the Dressrosa arc, Bartolomeo and the other pirates who mostly fought in the Corrida Colosseum became the Straw Hats' alliance. They later formed an allied force known as the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Bartolomeo became the captain of the second ship of the Grand Fleet.
10. Make an Appearance in Film: RED
Have you watched One Piece Film: Red? If not, you will see Bartolomeo later in the story. Even though he didn't do much to the story, Bartolomeo still helped the Straw Hats.
