The hype of the series is great and fans are excited about the Chainsaw Man facts and memes. Not to mention the Chainsaw Man characters who are so cool that many people quickly like them.

Here's the Chainsaw Man Manga Facts

Chainsaw Man tells the story of an uneducated young boy named Denji, who runs all kinds of jobs to make ends meet for his daily money. He and his pet, Pochita, live a miserable life but somehow they manage to survive under such circumstances.

Denji dreams of being able to live happily and wants to die in the arms of a girl. And for the sake of it, one day he finds a dangerous job where a tragedy happens to him and turns him into a ruthless mower, making him the 'Chainsaw Man'. Do you know these Chainsaw Man facts? Check out these 10 Chainsaw Man manga facts that no one knows.

1. Fujimoto Tatsuki's Manga Adapted Into An Anime of the Same Title

Like most anime series on the market, Chainsaw Man is adapted from the manga series of the same name. Written by Fujimoto Tatsuki, a popular manga artist with several manga series and one-shot comics, Chainsaw Man is the first of his many manga to receive an anime series adaptation.

The story tells of Denji, a young man who works as a demon hunter and is shackled by the debts of his late father. Since the manga's launch in 2018, Chainsaw Man has gained quite a following, with many people also praising the artwork and characterization. That's all possible because the story can strike a good balance between horror and comedy aspects.

2. The Story is Set in 1997

Without going into too many plot spoilers, Chainsaw Man's story takes place in 1997 and is set in an alternate universe where nuclear weapons and historical events like the Holocaust have been erased from existence. In the manga, the timeline of the story isn't explicitly revealed until much later in the chapters, in Chapter 75, although there are plenty of clues scattered throughout Fujimoto Tatsuki's story.

3. Denji has an Iconic Costume Despite His Simple Style

The protagonists of the shnen genre manga aren't required to wear special costumes, but they usually do. As well as Naruto Uzumaki's orange, black, and blue outfit, which really made him stand out. Another example is the costumes of other manga protagonists such as Izuku Midoriya. However Denji from the Chainsaw Man manga doesn't have all of those standout costumes.

Denji has no interest in superhero costumes, nor does he have the budget or sewing skills necessary to make them. He only wore his own simple clothes like a white shirt and tie. Although the costume is very simple but Denji's character is very distinctive, because he allows his saw head to be the visual cue.

4. Denji Is A Typical Teen Boy Character In The Real World

Shown in a good way, and in a simple way, the protagonist of Chainsaw Man named Denji is the standard typical teenage boy character in the Real world. True, other shnen manga stars like Yuji Itadori, Izuku, and Natsu Dragneel are teenage boys too, but they have larger-than-life experiences, abilities, and ideas that real teens can't relate to.

Then there's Denji whose attitude, interests, and behavior make him a realistic teenager. He feels lost, frustrated, and looking for meaning in his life. Even though he's lazy, he likes to daydream about getting a pretty girlfriend.

5. In the anime, Denji is voiced by a new voice actor

If you've watched the Chainsaw Man anime trailer and were impressed by Denji's frustrated screams, you might be surprised to hear that a newcomer Toya Kikunosuke has an excellent voice acting performance. Denji is the first leading role of a 23-year-old rookie voice actor.

When interviewed about the casting decision, director Nakayama Ryu revealed that they prioritized the "voice" of Denji's voice in this anime project, and that Toya's "vocal cord" was quite the version of Denji they had in mind.

6. The voice of Kishibe is the same as Nanami Kento from Jujutsu Kaisen

Voicing a charismatic blonde anime character seems to be Tsuda Kenjiro's forte, as the veteran voice actor lends his ethereal and husky voice to the role of Kishibe, the strongest demon hunter in the Chainsaw Man series.

Coincidentally, he also voices the character Nanami Kento, a fan-favorite character in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, who is a blonde-haired sorcerer who just wants to get home from work on time.

7. The director has worked as an animator and animation director for several series

Nakayama Ryu, director of the Chainsaw Man series, has a pretty good resume. He has been involved in various projects, working on animation, directing animation, and even storyboarding work for more than 30 titles.

After his staff revealed Nakayama's involvement last year, Nakayama commented on Twitter that he is delighted and honored to be working on an adaptation of the manga series he has always loved, and will do his best to make an anime adaptation that lives up to his fans' expectations.

8. Denji Is Not Stuck In His Past Memories

Some manga protagonists usually persist in their past memories, such as Ichigo Kurosaki, who changed permanently after the death of his mother. The protagonists of other shounen and seinen manga genres don't care about their past, but focus on their present and perhaps their future.

This is a trait that Denji has with Berserk's Guts. Both remain grounded in the present, and they don't think about where they came from or who their parents were in the past. Chainsaw Man fans should expect a bit of a flashback for Denji aside from the scene depicting his first encounter with Pochita.

9. Denji Has a High Tolerance To Pain

Becoming a standard for shounen and seinen manga protagonists is the ability to survive when they are hurt. It would seem exhausting if the protagonists had to curl up and cry every time they suffered bruises or cuts. Even so, Denji is a pretty tough kid who barely budges when he's slashed with a fairly wide wound.

Denji doesn't enjoy pain or suffering, but he can endure it quite well, as shown in the early part of the manga. Even after being stabbed with a sword, Denji managed to get up from the attack of the zombie demon minions and fight him again. Later in the manga, Denji burns himself to fight his enemy and he barely complains about it hurting him.

10. Denji Doesn't Like Strategy and Complicated Puzzles

Shonen manga protagonists like Izuku Midoriya and Jolyne Cujoh are quite adept at formulating clever strategies to counter their enemies' techniques or crafting plans to defeat powerful foes, and they don't mind tackling interesting ancient puzzles either. Chainsaw Man manga protagonist Denji feels very different in this regard.

Denji may like to think practically and be resourceful, but his mind is not suitable for more theoretical thinking. When things get complicated or weird, Denji will insist that his smarter partner must come up with a plan and tell Denji what to do. He prefers to take a nap when his friends are having a strategy meeting.

Well, that's the 10 facts about Chainsaw Man, the series that popularized the story of the demon slayer Chainsaw man to anime lovers. Do you think there are more Chainsaw Man facts that haven't been discussed here? You can share them in the comments.
