There are many terrifying facts in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It that will give you goosebumps. Find out the details here.
8. The First Murder Case Recorded in Brookfield, Connecticut
Being the first recorded murder case in Brookfield, the murder committed by Arne Cheyenne Johnson is quite odd. In the Self-defense carried out by Arne Cheyenne Johnson, he said that he was possessed and could not control his thoughts. Arne Cheyenne Johnson saw the figure of a scary creature with grinning eyes and long fangs staring intently at him. Unfortunately, the judge did not budge with Arne Cheyenne Johnson's defense of being possessed and sentenced to 24 years in prison and this case is known as the case of "The Devil Made Me Do It."
Facts gleaned from The Washington Post in the fall of 1981, Brookfield Police Chief John Anderson stated that there was an argument and someone was furious about that argument. The stabbing of Alan Bono as the owner of the apartment by Arne Cheyenne Johnson was quite fatal, Bono was stabbed by 5 stabs with a 5-inch pocket knife blindly.
7. Earned the World’s Interest Due to Possession
The "The Devil Made Me Do It" case attracted the attention of many people, including those from outside the United States. Martin Minnella, who became a lawyer for Arne Cheyenne Johnson, defended his innocent clients and suspected of being possessed by a demon who made him kill Alan Bono with 5 stabs.
Martin Minnella himself did a blow-up to the big media and got a lot of responses and phone calls from Australia, Switzerland, and even from England who were interested in his case. Unfortunately, the judge remained unmoved until the latest findings confirmed that Arne Cheyenne Johnson was really possessed by the devil.
6. “The Devil Made Me Do It” Case Was Made into a Film in 1983
An interesting case inspired many people to do commercial acts by using stories from these cases. Once made as a television film, "The Devil Made Me Do It" case was presented under disguised names. In addition, there are actors and actresses Andy Griffith and Beverlee McKinsey who act as psychics like Ed and Lorraine Warren, but unfortunately, The Warrens themselves weren't credited in the film.
5. Not Everyone Who Knows Arne Cheyenne Johnson Believes He's Possessed
Many people are skeptical of the Arne Cheyenne Johnson case and said they don’t believe that he is possessed. This includes several people who know Arne Cheyenne Johnson because of his true nature, which is a hot-tempered person who is easily provoked by emotions. Whether it was after or before the demon moved from Johnson's brother, he was involved in an incident where he slashed a stuffed animal with his knife during an argument at work.

4. Arne Cheyenne Johnson is not the First Possession Victim but His Brother-in-Law
Before the "The Devil Made Me Do It" case, Arne Cheyenne Johnson was not the first possession victim in the family, but an 11-year-old child from the previous tenant's family named David Glatzel. As the scene of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It depicted the process of exorcism carried out by Ed and Lorraine Warren from a small child who strangely can make an adult voice and strange, that boy is David Glatzel.
3. Possessed by 43 Demons
One of the most astonishing things is that 43 demons possessed Arne Cheyenne Jonson, not just 1. Through Ed and Lorraine's diagnostic method called "lesser exorcisms" when saving David Glatzel, Johnson continues to ask the demon with the appearance of a beast to take him instead of David. Then the devil moved but there was still a devil in David but not as vicious as the one possessing Johnson.
2. No Formal Exorcism Takes Place in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
One of the things you must know is that there is no Formal Exorcism held from the local church. Ed and Lorraine Warren themselves held the exorcism in private. The reason for not holding a formal exorcism ritual procession was because the Glatzel family refused to do psychological tests that might have David suffering from mental disorders. Without these psychological tests, Bishop Bridgeport would have refused to perform an exorcism.
According to David's mother, she did not want her child to be tormented by needles during the psychological test. Even though it is still unknown where David's mother concluded that the psychological test used a needle or other sharp object.
1. Johnson and Glatzel Got Married
After being convicted by the court, Arne Cheyenne Johnson was sentenced to jail. The court ruled 24 years in prison and Johnson married Glatzel in 1985. Glatzel himself grew in love because Johnson sacrificed himself to save his younger brother David from the savage demon that resided within him. Of course this is a happy ending for David even though he has to spend part of his life in prison.
