One of the reasons for his personality was Douma's extremely high intelligence. He believes that most humans are weak or stupid. Plus, he is clinically lacking in empathy. Even before becoming a devil, Douma had never really felt emotion, and he was also aware of his condition.

2. Douma is a Masochist

7. His Blood Demon Art is Cryokinesis

The war fan is also very suitable for Douma as his Blood Demon Art relies heavily on cold temperature production. The devil's special ability is Cryokinesis and he can create ice from his own flesh and blood. This ice can then take any form Douma wishes, and he has used this ability extensively and skillfully.

He is able to create ice constructs that can be used as weapons, such as stalagmites or thorns. When not creating ice cones, Douma can also freeze the air around him, enough to solidify and impede even Hashira's movements. Douma made use of his battle fan to extend his Demon Blood Spell.

8. Douma Killed Inosuke’s Mother

Inosuke's past hasn't been told in depth, but his battle with Douma sheds some light on his origins. As it turns out, one of the women that Douma brought into his cult was Inosuke's mother, Kotoha Hashibira. He had no other choice because he was running away from his abusive family.

Unfortunately, Kotoha was too scared and eventually realized that Douma was killing and eating members of his cult. Thus, she tried to escape with baby Inosuke but Douma found her and shortly after killed her, even claiming to eat her whole. Luckily, Kotoha managed to save Inosuke by throwing him into the river.

9. Douma Killed Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Pillar

Inosuke, Kanao Tsuyuri, and Shinobu Kocho are demon slayers who confront Douma in the final chapters of the manga. Even though Shinobu was the fastest among the Hashiras, her speed was apparently no match for Douma's, and the Upper Moon demon could even overpower her as if she were a child.

After killing Shinobu, Douma even went so far as to absorb it as an alternative to eating his victims. What's tragic is that Kanae Kocho, Hashira Flower and girls like Shinobu, were also killed by Douma several years earlier.

10. Died Due to Poison from Shinobu and Kanao's Slash Assisted by Inosuke

However, not just any demon, he raised them to become Upper Moon Sixth Grade, marking their status as one of the strongest demons under Muzan Kibutsuji's command.
