Here are some facts about the number 1 hero, Endeavor, that you need to know about!
Anime & Manga | 12 April
Endeavor is a pro hero who is currently the number 1 hero in Japan replacing All Might in Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia). There are several facts about this hero with the power of fire that you might need to know about. Curious already? Take a look at the discussion below!
1. Fire Mask
To look strong and fierce, Endeavor is always seen using fire to make eyebrows, mustache, and beard on his face. To be frank, he made a fire mask. Since we saw Endeavor's face without flames, it can be concluded that all this time he had activated his Quirk to make that fire mask.
Imagine how much energy it would take to always activate his Quirk? Endeavor did this because he doesn't have a mustache or beard on his face. Whatever the reason, what is clear is Todoroki's father is committed to always appearing with his fire mask.
2. Wants His Son to Surpass All Might
Endeavor is known as the only hero who tried hard to surpass All Might when he became hero number 1. Unfortunately, Endeavor changed his goal after finding out that the difference in strength was too great between them. That's when he thought he wanted to have a child who could surpass All Might one day.
The first step he took was to marry a woman who had an ice Quirk. That way he believes he can have children who inherit his and his wife's Quirk, fire, and ice. Todoroki was born with these abilities, as Endeavor expected.
3. Trains His Son So Hard
Just like Vinsmoke Judge of One Piece who wants his children to become fighting machines, Endeavor also wants that from Todoroki but with a different goal. Not only trained Todoroki very hard, but he also treated his wife harshly to death.
[SPOILER] He forced his dream on Todoroki and his older brother, Toya. In the end, Todoroki doesn’t follow his father's wishes and has his own goal like other heroes in general. Meanwhile, Toya is completely disgusted by his father and becomes a villain with the alias Dabi.
4. Praised for Defeating Stain
The one who defeated Stain was Todoroki, with the help of Deku and Iida. But Todoroki admits that he didn't fight against Stain at that time, so Endeavor was the one who got the praise. Here, Endeavor should be proud because he has a child who can beat a villain as strong as Stain.

5. His Warning Shot Always Beat His Foes
Endeavor's warning flame shot can always knock his opponents unconscious. He said this in the fight against Nomu who was attacking the people at the same time as Stain.
Even though the warning shot was intended to knock the opponent down mentally so they could surrender without fighting. This is because Endeavor prefers to fight without any casualties.
6. Able to Control His Flames so Well
As a number 1 hero, Endeavor has an enormous flame Quirk. Not only that, but he can also control the flame very well. That's why Endeavor never once burned a building or other place with his Quirk. Even though he looks fierce, he cares for the people like a real hero.
The proof is that Endeavor prefers to defeat Nomu in the air which is located quite far from the building. It seems that the residents believe that Endeavor will never destroy anything when fighting villains.
7. Can Only Float
Endeavor has the power to throw an opponent very high with his punches. Even so, he cannot fly, in contrast to Tsunayoshi Sawada (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) who can fly with his fire thrust.
His Quirk can only make him float in the air. This is seen in his fight against Nomu where he asks Hawks to boost him up. This reminds us of Tony Stark of Marvel Cinematic Universe when he first tried on the Iron Man suit.
8. Hates U.A's Motto
Before defeating Hood, Endeavor admitted that he always hate U.A.'s motto. The motto reads "Plus Ultra" which means each hero can go beyond his limits to complete the given mission. Even though he hates that motto, Endeavor himself once said it after defeating Hood.
Even though many other encouraging words can be said, but why does he say Plus Ultra? We can conclude that those words show Endeavor's love for the institution.
