This movie follows a divorced couple, who go to Bali to stop their daughter Lily from marrying a man she just met there, Gede. Instead, the movie was shot in Australia, in the Palm Bay Resort beach area on Long Island, part of the Whitsunday Islands. The area was transformed in such a way to make it look like the Island of the Gods with its beautiful sceneries. To emulate the Balinese atmosphere, the production team was willing to conjure up boats, supporting actors, traditional clothing and furnitures, and even buildings to look like the movie is set in Bali.

Ticket to Paradise stars an Indonesian actor who plays Gede, the man whom Lily is going to marry. The role was played by a native Indonesian actor, namely Maxime Bouttier, whose real name is Maxime Andre Selam Bouttier. The French-Indonesian actor plays a native Balinese in this movie. The film is also his Hollywood debut for the actor. This role is certainly not easy to get, as he had to audition for four weeks, all of which was done virtually. After a long audition process, Maxime was eventually selected and contacted directly by the director to play Gede.

Ticket to Paradise has a simple yet compelling story. The story follows a divorced couple, Georgia and David. They are willing to set aside their differences and go to Bali to stop their daughter Lily from marrying a local named Gede.
