Gecko Moria is a former Shichibukai who once fought Luffy in the Thriller Bark arc. He is capable of spawning and controlling zombies with his abilities. In this article, Dunia Games wants to discuss some interesting facts about Gecko Moria. Take a look at the discussion below!

1. His Bounty

Gecko Moria has a bounty that is quite large, that's why he was able to be promoted as Shichibukai. Moria once had a bounty of 320 million Belly before being frozen by the World Government for joining Shichibukai. Then, after Luffy defeated him, Luffy's bounty increased to 400 million Belly.

After the Shichibukai was disbanded, Moria's bounty is active again. Most likely the price has increased after the time skip.

2. The Oldest Shichibukai

Due to his somewhat sinister appearance, no one expected that Moria would turn out to be quite old. Before the time skip, Moria was 48 years old, while after the time skip, he is 50 years old. This makes him the oldest Shichibukai in existence. Moria is also known as the Shichibukai to not have any nicknames.

3. Similarities with Big Mom

Moria ate Kage Kage no Mi devil fruit that allows him to take a person's shadow and animate a corpse by inserting a shadow. While Big Mom is a Soru Soru no Mi eater who can manipulate a person's soul by reducing their lifespan and animate inanimate objects with the soul that she gets from someone.

They both possess life-giving abilities by possessing shadows and souls, respectively. The difference is, Moria's strength has a weakness against salt, while Big Mom's strength weakness has not been explained.

4. Super Rookie

In the past, Moria was known as a Super Rookie who was trying to navigate the New World. However, at Wano he was defeated by the Beasts Pirates, and his entire crew was massacred by Kaido. Moria also once told Luffy that his group was not strong enough to navigate the New World.

True enough, back in the Sabaody, the Straw Hat crew lost badly. For this loss, Luffy decided to train for 2 years before continuing his journey to the New World.

5. Raising Perona

Since childhood, Perona was raised by Moria. This made Perona think of Moria as her own father. But she couldn't do anything after being thrown by Kuma to Kuraigana Island. When she woke up, the first person Perona was looking for was Moria. She was very sad not knowing how Moria was doing.

6. His Laughing Style

Some characters in One Piece have unique laughing styles, for example, Kurohige with "zehahahaha", Shirohige with "gurararara", or Brook with "yohohoho". Gecko Moria has his own style of laugh that goes, "kishishishishi". You must have often heard this laugh when you followed the Thriller Bark arc.

7. Never Catch the Victim

Moria stole a lot of shadows from people to keep for himself and also put them into the zombies he created. Strangely, Moria never caught the people who became his victims, precisely whose shadows were taken by him. Even though many threats come to him if he does not do it.

For example, Brook came to take back his shadow by fighting against Moria zombies. Likewise with Luffy and friends whose shadows were taken. If those people were caught or even killed, Moria would no longer have to fear the threats that come in his way.

8. Moria's dream

Just like most other pirates, Moria once had a dream to become the Pirate King. This is never explained in anime or manga. But for some reason, Moria seemed to give up on his dream and instead became one of the Shichibukai.

9. Moria's Ship

Maybe you haven't realized that Thriller Bark is Moria’s ship. It is the largest ship in the world of One Piece. Thriller Bark is not an ordinary ship because it contains not only ship parts in general, but also land where many people can do their activities.

10. He is Very lazy

Moria prefers to avoid fighting head-on. This is because of his very lazy nature. He prefers to lie down while sending his zombie crew to fight his enemies. Moria believes that if he has a strong crew then his goal will be achieved.
