5 Facts About Grimlock, The Legendary Leader of Dinobots

The Transformers: Age of Extinction movie released in 2014 served as the first appearance of Dinobots. The group led by Grimlock told to have lived on Earth for centuries. They were buried for a hundred years until Optimus Prime freed them from their slumber. Even though they once rejected Prime’s offering, Dinobots finally wanted to help them to defeat any robots that threating humankind. If we're talking about Dinobots, Grimlock serves as the star in the said movie, even he featured as the “poster boy” when it hit theaters. 5. Has Devastating Powers

As the leader of Dinobots, Grimlock is the strongest member of the group. He often saw as one, or one of the strongest Transformers ever existed because he could defeat Megatron on many occasions. In his T-Rex form, Grimlock is almost indestructible. Aside from having massive armor, Grimlock also can burst fire. He also can move fast and can tear the enemy asunder with his sharp teeth. When he’s in robot form, Grimlock wields the legendary Energon sword that can turn him into a strong fighter.

4. Grimlock Formed Technobots

In The Transformers animated series aired back in 1986, Grimlock was told to be the smartest robot in Cybertron. When Cybertron attacked by Decepticons, the Autobots, at that time, were lack of manpower. Furthermore, Galvatron had formed Terrorcons as an assist to defeat the Autobots. But, by relying on the part of Unicron’s brain, Grimlock formed Technobots to fight back Terrorcons. The Technobots consist of Scattershot, Strafe, Lightspeed, Afterburner, and Nosecone. If those five combined, they can turn into Computron. 

3. Grimlock Shares the Same Size With Devastator

In The Transformers: Age of Extinction movie, Grimlock was created into a massive robot with 84 feet tall (or more than 2500 cm) in his robot form. His height even beating Devastator as the biggest robot owned by Decepticon. But in the comics and animated series, Grimlock stands a little bit taller than Optimus Prime and Megatron. 

2. Grimlock Claims Himself as the Leader of Autobots

Dinobots is a robot pack from Cybertron who known as trouble makers and highly arrogant. Even when they joined Autobots, the Dinobots didn’t obey their leader's orders. Grimlock, who served as the leader of Dinobots, once claimed as the worthy leader of the Autobots. Even though in the end he changed his heart and obeying Optimus Prime for his strength and wisdom.

1. Michael Bay Hates Grimlock

You probably thinking that Michael Bay, who directed the Transformer movie franchise, loves all the robots. But it turns out that this director hates Dinobots. During an interview with the Empire Magazine, Bay stated his hate towards Dinobots, until at one point, Bay surrendered by featuring them at the end of the movie for the last battle.
